Got home with it set it up and started using it, I do all my backup on it and it is working great.

Bought for my granddaughters pictures. She needed large storage and this fit the bill quite nicely.

I purchased this drive to use as backup copy of scan of three generations of photos. Installation of the drive was confusing and prompted installing numerous .exe files that gave no messaging of its purpose and necessity for my intended use of product. I turned installation over to my son with an IT college degree and he found it annoying and lacking key guidance. Product itself is highly fragile. While the damage to mine (unusable and beyond repair after first use) is my own fault - nothing in the description of the product (on BestBuy but directly quoting manufacturer's wording) did not make it clear to me (Moderately tech savvy) that this was not safe to transport. Summary - I was seeking a large capacity memory source to back up valuable data and sought something more sturdy than a flash drive. I should have used BestBuy online or in store support to qualify what I wanted and what was available. When I went to buy a replacement (obscure small print disclaimer about handling product nullified warranty replacement) the in-store associate patiently explained this product was a hard drive NOT a bulked up flash drive.

I purchased one for myself almost a year ago and it is amazing. Before I was constatly having to chose to delete games and data to make room for new games. This most recent one was for my son. He has a ton of games and with Holidays around the corner this was a perfect gift.

Works seamlessly with MacBook Pro and windows laptops. No issues, has worked exactly as it should.

the 1TB model was $10 cheaper. For the extra money I have twice the capacity. Works well as expected.

This harddrive is doing the job. Formatting it is easy and all files are now transferred for storage.

The Passport unit is good for a lot of storage. This unit works well if one requires all their stuff in a single place. Easy tranfer back & forth from other devises. Only downfall is the price. Lookout for the passport being on sale.

I can't believe how affordable externals have become over the years. I got 2TBs for a great price.

Bought the 2T because it was only $10 more than the 1T. Copied my entire hard drive on my computer with lots of memory left over. Love that you can schedule routine back ups. That alowed my to drop my subscription to have it done by an outside agency.

What more can you ask for, it gives you another external storage to back up your stuff. Everyone should have one, just in case. But I've had past WD external hard drives and I've had no issues. Plus it's usb 3.0 which is a plus for faster transfer speeds.

Good drive, fast. Software is questionable. Seems easier to just copy and paste data directly.
