Why can’t they use the same wire? Apple can simplify all their hardwares to the same type of wire, why can’t WD? I have 4 different products and they have 4 different wires creating major clutter

Will not work with iMac Out-of-the-box. It was a real pain to initialize. Partly Apple's fault with weird choices - partly WD - as they do sell external drives noted as being "Apple Compatible."

after i transferred a few folders, it started making a ticking sound and then was moving extremely slow. i brought it back to the store and was given a replacement, no questions.

I would expect this to be a fast and easy files and photos transfer. However, I was not able to transfer some of my photos directly into this drive. I have to find a work around.

product is good. however, when attempting to upload software, it takes a little while before it starts installing the disk. It also takes a little time before it reads the disk.

I've purchased this drive to do backups to on my Mac after days of trying I am still unable to get my data backed up because of confusing formatting options.

This HD works fine once you get it going, but the setup for a Mac drive was a bit tricky. If you're comfortable figuring that out, it's a good drive.

Wanted to use it as a time machine for my daughter's macbook pro. Found it difficult to format it for some reason. Took some time to get it going.

I bought this 4TB portable drive to replace another one. Within the month, I have begun to notice inconsistent mounting on my laptop. I hope it endures....

Wanted storage and seems to work fine, can't seem to fine out what actually got backed up though, hope when I need to restore files they are all there.

Had an issue setting this external hard drive to back up my laptop. Call customer service and they were very helpful.

I purchased this item with geek squad protection. Unfortunately it got stolen while I was traveling. I contacted geek squad and showed them proof of purchasing it along with evidence to show that it was trying stolen but they insisted they could not replace my product. I wouldn't purchase a new hard drive from here because their geek squad protection is a waste of money.

Probably good drive but set up is too complicated. Needs simplier set up for people who are not very computer savvy.

This was replacement for one that ran out of gigabytes. I have been disappointed in this one....will not backup!

Continue to experience trouble getting the drive to save entire folders. Looked at the trouble shooter guide to no avail.

This is the third WD hard drive I’ve bought. They are great as long as you don’t drop them at all. The last one I bought fell off my Xbox onto the table which is a distance of about 3-4 inches. The drive failed. They are not durable at all. By a SATA or get the insurance if you buy this drive

I bought this external hard drive to put my digital copies of dvds that I bought from iTunes on so I can play them on my TV. Well, the TVdoesnt recognize that the hard drive is plugged in when I try to use it. So then I thought that it was the television, so u put it into my PS4 and see if that would work. That didn’t work either. Very unhappy with this purchase

Works well as described in the specifications. Easy to use.

It is not compatible with my daughter’s MAC. Had to return it. Not recommended if you have MAC

Works good for a PS4 only thing I don't like is that you lose half a TB when installed, not sure why.
