This passport drive is probably one of the most reliable ones I have owned so far. I use this mainly for my Macs TM backups, and it’s incredibly fast, Highly recommend.

Better safe than sorry...I have lost files before do to crashes so it is imperative to have a backup and the passport is ideal for this and offers alot of memory backup.

I bought this alongside a new MacBook Pro. It has made backups a breeze with the time machine capability and allowed me to save money by not having to opt for a larger ssd.

I plugged it in, set it up 2 years ago and forgot about it because it works in the background to back up my files and it has never failed me.

This is a lightweight, efficient device. I've used it to backup my Macbook Pro, and it does it relatively quickly. However, if you encrypt your backups, expect the encryption process after a backup to take a ridiculously long amount of time. After a couple of backups (backup takes perhaps 5-10 minutes, encryption takes at least an hour more), I decided to decrypt. I'm on hour #2 of that process.

The My Passport HD was preset for the Mac environment so easy for my daughter to plug and play. Though any external drive will work, no special setup for the Mac is a plus

I bought this item the first time for my son for his PlayStation. After seeing how easy it was to use I bought a second for my daughters MacBook. Great product

This is an awesome little hard drive. I have used it for a while now with absolutely no issues. Would definitely recommend.

Use as backup and extended storage for a MBP with a 256GB SSD. Syncs with Time Machine for automatic backups when the MBP is plugged into external power. Works reasonably fast when used to edit videos reading and storing to the external drive via USB 3.0.
