Such a great hard drive, especially for beginners.

Bought this to have a second back up data storage after losing our old faithful Seagate backup drive decided to dive and hit the hard surface of the floor. Had a reputable Data Recovery service finally recovered 99.1% of the data from the damaged Seagate. Now I have two similar new Data backup drive to maintain for all the files from our phones and several laptops.

This is my third WD external drive. Absolutely necessary for sensitive data storage. Genealogy research is irreplaceable. Twenty five years can’t be stored on unreliable devices.

I bought this for a class and it works very well. You do have to set up the software that comes with this to work. So beware of that. If you want something that works out of the box, then consider something else.
