This device is fast for file transfer. It has a good capacity. I am not convinced that it was worth the higher cost compared to other similarly sized WD passports. The front looks like metal, but mostly the device is plastic.

Seagate and other brands have let me down in the past but this WD hdd external storage device allows me to play back hd content including VR (8k) content.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for a friend and they loved it.

My laptop wouldn't recognize this drive. Western Digital customer service said it was probably a dead drive. So I returned it to Best Buy. They didn’t ask if I wanted to exchange it for another one, which I guess was a good thing because they didn’t have another one in stock. So I bought a different model of WD and it works fine.

I bought this to use to backup and transfer files and paid extra for the ultra for the password protection feature. Upon trying to use it I realized in order to use this feature all computers would need the software loaded (per the employee at the store) so I returned it.

Good backup. Good to have even if you are in the cloud

Have not had a single issue with this product. Since it is not a SSD, transfer times of large files can take awhile. Not bad for the price
