Excellent unit. Great for Time Machine backups on my MacBook Pro. A nice amount of storage for the price and is fast. Would recommend for all back up needs.

I've had previous experience with two other Western Digital external drives so when the time came to acquire an external storage device for my Macbook Pro, I jumped at the chance to grab another Western Digital drive based upon my prior experiences with their drives. Also don't be concerned that the drive comes formatted for Windows - simply connect this to any Mac and launch Disk Utility to reformat it to Apple's file system. My Mac's internal drive is 1 TB so I decided to grab a drive with double the storage space for extra room. Additionally, this drive has a metal shell (instead of the normal flimsy plastic) and also has USB-C interface (for slighly faster read/write speeds). Whether you're looking for extra storage for an existing system or you need a dedicated drive for backups, this Western Digital drive is a great choice. Pick one up today - you won't be disappointed!

Nice hard drive overall and nice inclusion of usb-c to usb adapter. If using with a mac you have to do an annoying setup work around the first time but then it’s standard

I love this USB 3.0 drive. Western Digital is by far the best hard drive manufacturer and with USB 3.0 I can quicky transfer file to and from the drive. Very lightweight and portable.

Almost 2 full Terabytes in this storage unit. easy to set-up & easy to store too. summed up in a word = ‘easy’.

This is second WD ULTRA I have purchased. Currently have the 2 TB version. Installed it with no effort, on lines in a matter of minutes. Currently have backup with no problems. I might also add I had no problems with my first WD and I have no reason to think I will have any problems with my latest WD Ultra.

It works as promoted. I was able to transfer some important documents to the drive.

This WD hard drive is a good value. Been using them for years. Unfortunately the WD backup software does not install on the laptop I backed up, unlike other hard drives in the past. WD was not helpful, giving me a long list of troubleshooting things to try. Thankfully there was a partner software also on this drive which worked first time. Now it is licensed for 5 years after which they may renew or charge a supplemental fee to renew.

This Passport was easy to use as a "plug and play" option for our family's document storage needs. I was easily able to format it for both Mac/iOs and PC use. The staff at Best Buy was wonderful and very helpful in guiding me to the correct device. Thank you!

Does the job and quick enough to handle normal daily usage.

I was torn between getting this one and an SSD but settle on this one because I got more storage for a cheaper price I use this to edit photos and it is very fast and portable

Bought this unit to use with the Mac's built-in Time Machine backup software. Works very well and priced well to boot. Would recomment.

Large amount of storage, and helpful that it comes with an adapter for USB ports. Not as sturdy feeling as I’d hoped, but so far has worked sufficiently.

I've been using this for a while and works smoothly. It can be encrypted too. Plus is not heavy. You barely notice that you are carrying it with you.
