It is only fully compatible with Mac OS systems after it is reformatted for the Mac. At this time it is read only compatible with Windows systems. I have an older smaller capacity WD Passport that is read write compatible with both OS and Windows systems. Not recommended if you have multiple operating systems and want a single storage device.

WE 3TB drive

Works great for XB1 external hard drive

Better than Toshiba

I haven't had such a problem with the WD passports. I knew I would need the storage capacity, so I doubled down and spent the money and am pleased so far.
