    I learned a lessen the hard way and thats why I only use WD harddrives for my business. Never had a failure like the cheap seagate crap.

    To start, Mine was failing. I wanted to upgrade to a solid state but the price just wasn't right for me. SO I went with this great 4 terabyte hard drive. It runs on a USB type -C BUT does have a convertor for a regular USB 2.0. It's very fast and sturdy. They even have cases that fit is perfectly. Don't be frustrated when it doesn't have 4000GB of data, it's 4 terabytes not 4000gbs.

    Writing speed is closely 115mbytes/sec(RAW format photos) and satisfies my need but must use provided cable to get these speeds.

    Fast enough for my laptop for an external game library. Read speeds in the 50-80s MB/s in sequential writes. Nice that is USB C 3.1 but I doubt the drive speed is fast enough to saturate the connection bandwidth. I may replace the drive in enclosure with SSD, however unsure if possible due to being a sealed drive enclosure.
