Great hard dive. Really easy to set up, it’s all basically automatic. Plenty of memory. Quick load times. I’ve never had a problem with western digital. Have bought quite a few portable and stationary hard drives through the years and never been disappointed.

when I first received the hard drive I thought I had a problem because it was not registering with my windows 10 machine... I was already to return the drive when I noticed that the c-mount was not inserted completely, I removed the cable and noticed it had to be pushed in further, even though it looked and felt like it was in completely it wasn't . I googled the problem and a lot of other users had the exact problem, but its good that it is so tight when inserted properly because it will not come out like some others drive do.

Very useful and affordable. My college daughter uses it for backup and storage.

We bought this as a back up for my wife's laptop and her blog website. It meets the needs well, much larger capacity than one it replaced with smaller footprint too. So far, so good on operation and easy of use.

I have a home server with over 80TB of storage capacity. Recently I lost the ability to connect to it over my home network. As it serves as network storage for all my music, movies, photos and some personal files. Having lost all network connections to the server, I have been unable to stream or access any of my stored data. Until I figure out what's going on with the server, I decided to buy this portable drive as an interim solution, and have begun to store my data on it by slowly downloading some of the accessible data on the server. I have then "shared" that data on the network so that I can access it from any device connected to the network and it has functioned perfectly! Once accessed on any device, streaming is seamless and fast. I have moved a ton of stuff to this drive and when I check "properties", very little memory is used up.

I formatted this to a fat 32 and can us on my macbook pro or hp. I can use on either or computer.
