they Date is fast to receive but if i move to my other laptop it will not connect, my friend also tried it on his laptop would not connect

Seems robust and well made, similar to other WD products. I owned several WD HDDs over the years and never experienced a problem. The old WD HDDs still work. I bought this one solely because of the USB-C connection. I wanted to plug it in my computer without using adaptors. It was very disappointing that the included USB-C cable was bad. The connections did not fit in the USB-C ports on my computer or in the HDD. I had to spend and extra $20 on a new cable. This is the reason for 3 stars, for not recommending to a friend, and only one star for "value".

I have had this drive for a little over a year. I'm a photographer, so I have thousands of photos on this thing. This is probably my 5th external hard drive in my career. All of a sudden, the drive will not be recognized on any computer. I have tried changing the cord, using different computers, using the WD software. Nothing. A year's work is gone and I will have to pay someone to try and retrieve it. I won't be purchasing this brand again. I'm heartbroken. Make sure you are backing up your backups!

I liked it... Still need to be careful while handling, but over all is good. I use this for permanent backups and I store the disk in a safe place... but I already lost one of this guys just with regular use... one day it just stopped working... switching to SD is a better options... but $$$

So far the cable is a little too sensible so basically you need to be working as static as you can.

Does what it says, it can be connected directly to my galaxy Note 9, (not recommended) but I did saved some drawings straight from my phone to the unit, no problem and it did not consume the battery at all, the reason you want to put it in the pc first is to edit your file before storing it.

USB-C connection makes editing video with this hard drive quite easy. Are use it mostly for media files and instead of having to move the files to my hard drive to get a better reading right speed, I can now simply leave it on the external and not have to worry about lag.

Bought this for a photo scanning project. Scanned about 1500 photos and stored them on this 4tb external Hard drive. Worked great. Can’t speak for longevity, but getting the photos onto it was no problem. Didn’t even make a small dent in the 4tb

Less than a year - the drive failed. I am now unable to retrieve my data. WD is great with replacement, but it doesn't recover my data. Be careful the type of hard drive you purchase
