I bought this hard drive to back up the data on my laptop and it works just like it should. A nice external backup option.

Had it for less than 9 months, used for about 6 months. Product already doesn't read anymore.

I have used the Western Digital Passports before and have been very satisfied. This drive continues to be all that I expect from the brand.

I have had this product for a while and so far, have had no problems with it.

The only item that I would change on the drive would be to put the "on" light on the front of the casing. Otherwise the drive is perfect and super easy to use.

We really like the small size and ease-of-use of this hard drive. We have several WD hard drives and will continue to buy as needed.

Love this drive. I didn’t even realize it was USB-C until I got it. I’m glad peripheral makers are finally jumping on board the USB-C bandwagon. It’s much better than the existing USB format and almost all of my devices within the past 2 years have a port. It does include a USB-C to USB-A adapter in case you need to use it on an older computer. 4TB of storage is overkill for most people, you could easily backup your computer and store much more on it at the same time. Definitely the best feature of this drive is the built-in hardware encryption. Without it, anyone could plug in your drive and view all of your personal files. Having it built into the hardware allows you to have security without the performance hit that you get with software encryption. It’s also super easy to use, just plug in the drive, install the WD Secure software, and click the option to set a password. It will even work on PCs without WD Secure installed by launching a special virtual disc that will allow you to unlock your drive. As a bonus, it includes an NTFS driver and the WD Secure software to allow your encrypted drive to work on macOS also! However, on macOS Mojave (the latest) you will need to contact the vendor of the driver to get the latest version. The one included on my drive did not support Mojave. Works great with the latest version though! Unfortunately I don’t think Linux users will be able to take advantage of the hardware encryption features but the drive should work just fine without security if you format it for a Linux based file system. Does what it's supposed to do. Storage is no problem. Wish there were additional in store options but made it work.

It's a 4 star because it was a little more expensive than what I wanted in a 4TB external. I bought it anyway because it was at a time when HHD's were hard to come by due to the pandemic.

I purchased this product for extra storage on my computer. It seamlessly operates with the computer and the backup software works flawlessly.

Out of the box, this item was properly formatted and offered with a suite of applications to enhance and maintain its reliability.

One of my big problems with a lot of these portable drives is that they slide around or are so light that the cord can move it. This one is well with and doesn't slide around. It boots up quickly and quietly.

works perfect on ps5 only on ps4 games not ps5 because is designed only for old hardware not ssd wish it is lol

Good speed, 106m/s on old win 7 PC. Used it to backup data.but only lasted 20 days. Drive failed, returned and got my book

The drive works perfectly. I bought it due to the security feature of being able to lock it. Although I thought it could work with MACs too, but the MAC can only read from it, not write to it. Still a great drive.

It seems to work great. I used it on my Apple MacBookPro as a back up drive for time machine app.
