Better than I expected & easy to use! I have so much room on this I can put all my data from photo & tablet & a laptop & still have plenty more! Definitely recommend this! Don’t limit yourself get this one & you can save, for example, all your photographs from beginning to current & keep adding. What a perfect way to keep all your memories in 1 drive rather than some here & some there, worrying about Syncing, etc. Just plug in & store!

I've used WD Passport HDs for years and this has been one of the best so far in terms of speed and ease of use.

This hard drive is great for file storage and backing up my Macbook Pro using Time Machine. It's fast, easy to use, and has worked very reliably.

I have 4 different WD Hard drives of all different sizes and I love them. Super easy to use on macbook once set up and I've never had any issues of 3+ years of use for all of them. Nothing has ever randomly deleted on me or anything. I'd recommend this product to anyone with a macbook! I use these like crazy for my professional photography business and they are very durable.

Compact, easy to setup for an extra drive for storage and to transfer items from my old computer to my new computer. I especially like that it came with an adaptor for USB-C to USB-A. I've had two WD My book for 10 years, so I tried this compact drive with more storage capability. I hope it lasts as long as the others.

Definitely a must have for photographers! Storage of important photos

I was very pleased with this b/u drive. It’s pre formatted for Mac computers and has USB C connection as well as an adapter for old school USB. The price is good for 4TB of storage.

great portable hard drive, very fast and easy to use on Mac.

What I love the most about this is: 1. It has an aluminum body which just makes you feel more confident that it can survive if you were to drop it. 2. It’s completely compatible with macbooks. There’s other passports made for a pc and if you want to use it for a macbook, you have to reformat the passport so it’s compatible with MacBook which is a hassle. Plus there’s tons of memory in here so you don’t even have to worry about it running out.

Easy to use, compact, good overall value. Only knock against it has been that it doesn’t always want to eject from my Mac, especially if the computer has gone to sleep while the WD HD is connected and then after logging back in you try to eject, I often get a dialogue box that says the drive is busy and can’t be ejected, despite the fact that there is nothing being saved or opened. However it is hard to say if this is the drive or Mac OS 11.

It's fast, it's efficient, small so doesn't take up much real estate. The software that came with it wouldn't load on my Mac (Catalina) but no big deal for me, I'm only using it for extra storage. I have a NAS for back-ups. If you want it for backing up your Mac, you may get lucky or you may have to spend some time on the phone with tech support. Didn't test it on a windows machine so can't speak to that.

Still havent had any issues with it to me and my style of use its perfect and with my mac mini works amazing. Speed its great transferring large files and still fast, for my video editing and pictures amazing no complaint yet.

For some reason I cannot get this synced with Time Machine to back up automatically. I get an error message after each attempt to automatically back up. The first back up works smoothly—but I have to eject and initiate a new back up every time I want to back up my computer. This seems to be a fairly common problem when I go online and find a solution. The only “solution” to the problem did not appear to work when I tried it. So, it is easy to back up my computer—there is lots of space on the hard drive—but the “automatic backup” problem keeps me from giving this an excellent rating.

I am using this drive as a time machine backup. It is quiet, fast, mu better than my previous external (non WD) drive.

I bought this because my old My Passport for Mac didn't have enough space for additional back ups. I backed up my computer with the new one and I could see it in the Finder but could not see any of the files. I called technical support at Western Digital 4 times. They just kept having me erase it and start over. Each back up took 6 hours. It was the same result every time. I even tried it on a different Mac with the same result. Western Digital even told me to call Apple technical support. Why would Apple support Western Digital's device. Another Tech told me to copy and paste the files I wanted manually. That did not work either. I ended up returning the device. The supervisor called me and suggested I buy a more expensive Western Digital hard drive. I expected to have an easy time with this hard drive like the previous positive experience. I doubt I would buy another product from them because of the lack of knowledgable support.
