Drive temperature is in range between PRO and non Plus. Functioning ok for now. We had 2 dead out of 7 within 2 months and had to buy to replace. Be aware, WD warranty claimed 3-5days ship, but in fact did not shipping replacement for 2 months after they received the bad drive, said none in stock. Hope it works

I got 2 of these to put in a new NAS and one drive wouldn't even spin up. Now I have to wait for a replacement. I should have known better. I've seen many HD failures over the years and for a while they were mostly western digitals. But the price on these were better than an IronWolf so I figured it was worth a try. Sheesh...

Dead in 2.5 months

I've bought a few of these over the past couple years, but one of them just died about 2.5 months in. I recall the last time I had a dead drive, I contacted WD and they shipped me a new drive with a return box for the old drive. In the RMA process for this drive, I'd have to pay a non-refundable $25 to get the new replacement drive first. And I have to pay for shipping! It's been 2.5 months out of the 3 year warranty, WD... I think the shipping should be on the house.
This speaks to their quality and I'm reading between the lines: the drives are lacking in quality and they're passing it on to the customers. I'm feeling the lack of quality with this RMA experience.

Lasts less than a year in DVR

Junk. Lasted exactly 10 months in a DVR. This is the second WD “NAS” that has worn out in less than a year, in this application. Not a huge sample size (and supposedly this is a CMR disk) - but I’m officially done with these WD NAS disks. Apparently, the “NAS” rating means nothing anymore.
I’ll pay more for SSDs this time around and just double up for equivalent storage space. Disappointing, WD.

I ordered 4x4TB WD Red Plus HDDs for my NAS. Two failed within 11 months, and of the two replacements I ordered, one arrived DOA. I have always trusted WD over other manufacturers in the past, but this time I might need to look elsewhere.

GREAT HARD DRIVE FOR A NAS DRIVE

Excellent product. I bought 4 of these for my WD NAS drive. They are fast, so NAS drive backups go quickly, even if there is a lot of data to back up.

3.5yr in, one of my 5 drive failed.
So 3 star seems fitting. Just out of warranty too which is a little annoying.

Unable to get replacement for defective unit

I bought 2 of the WD plus 4TB for an NAS. One failed within a couple of months. The Customer Service web site was apparently down - and still may be down - so I had to call several times to get an RMA. I sent the drive back 6 weeks ago and have not rec'd a replacement yet. WD says they are not shipping any drives "until further notice". The 2nd drive is working fine, but a 50% failure rate seems unreasonable. The lack of a warranty replacement is enough to not buy this brand.
