Purchased two of the 8tb drives to update my NAS as I was running out of room. Drives were complete and easy to install. I got them formatted and up an running without any issues. Not the quietest or fastest drives, but the offer great storage at a great price point.

I've had 2 of these hard drives for almost 2 years and it still runs well. It has been installed in a server that I use for Plex and backup and I add and remove stuff from it all the time. Sometimes I can hear the platters as the drives search but no failures yet. Got them on sale so great for the price IMO.

These are great hard-drives. I've got 4 of them rumbling away in my NAS. Yes, they make an audible rumble. Keep in mind that these are server-grade hardware. So if you're looking for something quiet and power-efficient then these aren't for you. If you've got a server of some type then they're a good quality solution for storage volumes.

I purchased this recently to expand my storage and tranfrer data from some of my smaller extrnal drives. It works fine. (I did have to downlod a third party software to properly set up the unallocated storage.). This drive was nosiy when transferring files. I thought it would be less noisy after the transfers, but it is not. No other complaints.

I got three of these they all passed clean in bad blocks and smart checks. They are not overly loud, but I would not them on a system that sits in my desk, entertainment center, etc... Seem to be a good value / quality initially, I have not them long enough to speak in durability. I did pick them up in store to avoid small container shipping.

I've always been happy with Western Digital drives. I've had 4 of them in my NAS for years and 1 of them finally died. This is the replacement. They aren't loud or get too hot. Wish they cost less but I couldn't afford to wait for a sale.

    Packaging killed the drive.

I spent an hour trying to figure out why I couldn't initialize the drive. Turns out, the drive is DOA. It was put into a box without any packing material. I was a little too optimistic. The lack of spin up noise should've been a sign. I'll update this review once I get a replacement.
