No, I would not recommend this to a friendSurprisingly Good Anti-Virus
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was skeptical to install this because in the past the come with the PC Anti-Virus have been resource hogs or very annoying but since it came with the PC I tried it out. Install is quick and not a huge program and quick install even on slightly slow internet. So far not a million annoying prompts and not bogging down the system. Slightly better then the Trend Micro that have used in the past and way better than Norton or McAfee.

Webroot has been absolutely the best for me on at least 6 different computers over a decade spanning 3 or 4 operating systems. Other products bog down the system - too heavy on resources. I have uninstalled so many other products I can't keep track. The Webroot protection seems to work well too. Overall - its inexpensive, light on resources and it works. Yes - it's not FREE forever. Of course not. No product of this type is free forever! Doesn't work that way. I suspect those who have problems with this product have a messed up system to begin with because this product works well assuming you don't have a corrupted Windows install or massive damage already done by malware. No complaints. 30 plus years in IT.
