Setup is tricky

You won't be able to see it most of the time inside their sorry excuse for an app. Once you set a schedule I hope you like it, because controlling it from outside of the home or even from inside via the app is not going to happen.

I tried deleting and re downloading, but still wouldn't sync to the new unit. I'll have to sync it to my wife's phone. Best to install it behind a piece of furniture so that your kid doesn't know it's there.

The Wemo Mini should work longer than described and easy to setup. You can try to relocate the device close to the router and, make sure that your WiFi network is not hidden when setting up the device.
