With a iPhone I haven't had any issues, it may not load properly immediately but after a few seconds it starts to work properly. Around 25-35% of time on android it doesn't work or I would have to try to reset the wemo to get it to reconnect. If you will be using with an iPhone you should be fine. Andriod I would suggest finding another smart plug.

The Wemo App should work properly regardless if you’re using an Android or iOS device. Just make sure that it’s running on the latest version. It works well once set up
