The Wemo Mini should stay connected as long as it gets an optimum connection from the router. Worked... for a few months

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought two of these when they went on sale because I liked the shape and that they did not block other outlets on a power strip or the wall. I have other brand ones which are circle shaped and block part of the outlets. The first time setup worked, but it was not easy. The app kept crashing once it connected to the device. I had to try about 5-6 times per outlet to get it to connect to my 2.4GHz WiFi network. I recently replaced my Router and followed the steps to factory reset/reconnect the outlets so they forget the current WiFi and go back into pairing mode (press the power button for approx. 15 seconds). The devices flash the white/amber color like they are supposed to in order to connect, I can see the SSID for them, but the app will not connect to them to configure. Tried on iOS and Android. They are pretty much useless now, unless you want to add a power button to an outlet.

Good, but setup could be better
