Setting up our Wemo device is made easy through the Wemo App. Make sure that you're using the latest App and Operating System of your handheld device. A stable 2.4 GHz is also required to ensure a successful setup.

Connectivity problems

But we have two (one exchanged) that will not under any circumstances connect. 2.4, 5ghz, next to the router, on a plane in a train on a boat with a goat... we tried everything and gave up. The "support" on the internet was basically reboot it or reset it. Not happy overall that we're at about 50% working so... be aware.

Initially 5 stars but now only 1

I was really pleased with it on initial installation, setup, and use. But then Wemo released a firmware update which was automatically installed. That update did something to both units I had purchased and neither unit would then reliably connect to my Wi-Fi network. Wemo Tech Support could not resolve the problem and said they would replace them. I returned them to Wemo but never received the replacements. Had to call Wemo Tech Support again; still waiting for the replacement units. Can't recommend these anymore, pending seeing how replacement units work out.
