Purchased these to add flexibility. The Device easily paired with the WeMo App and with that the WeMo app allows me to have complete control on the schedule of when and from where I can control the on/off function. tis the season, the Christmas tree lights up and off on schedule every day. 5 stars.

Be sure to have your WiFi and Apple passwords handy, otherwise while looking for them the set up times out and you have to start over from the beginning. Once set up, however, and linked to Alexa, they work great. Works well for candelabra type lamps that are hard to find LED bulbs for that can connect to Alexa. Also, requires no hub.

Wemo wifi plug

A couple times of week my alexa will try to find it and and devices isn't found . I like it but can't help to think if I got the more expensive plug that it would work way better

Some routers may take multiple attempts to establish a connection with your Wemo device. If this happens, we can try changing the router’s wireless channel to avoid interference. As for your Amazon Echo, let's first ensure that the Wemo device is properly functioning on your Wemo app so that Alexa can work seamlessly with it.

Downloaded the app and set it up just like any other wifi adapter (get into the wifi of the device, and join it to the wifi of the house or office, then go back out and start using it. Just keep in mind that after you finish the setup, you will need to allow it to update it's firmware.

I use it for a standing lamp for my plants and also have it set up to go through the Amazon Echo. It works great and I can shut it off or turn it on through the wemo app or the Amazon Echo by voice command. An easy soution if you don't want to wire your light switches for wireless.

Easy device to set-up and use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think having this device is very good for safety in the home and also I have used it like an alarm clock to turn on a light to help wake up in the morning. I love the ease of controlling the lights from my phone. Since I don't have any voice activation devices at home (such as Echo, or Google Home) the only way to turn the light on once it is plug in to this device, is to use my phone to manually turn it on.

Kept losing connection

I have a very good deal band router and have no other problems WiFi connection on any other devices. Returned and purchased another brand and it works great. Also there was no easy connection tab to my Google home and the TP Link I bought had one and works great with my Google home.

Wemo smart Plug makes life easier

Of course, these strips are in awkward places. I bought this smart plug to see if it would make my life easier. It does! No more bending to find the off switch, now I just tell my Amazon Echo to shut it off. Couldn't be easier. I'll be buying a few more of these plugs. Really worth it!

I had a little difficulty with the install but was able to complete it. Both the operation with the iPhone and voice commands on the Google mini work flawlessly. This is great for turning lights on and off especially if you are not home. Thinking about getting a few more after they go on sale.
