These were suggested to me to control our lamps and I don’t know what we did before them. Oh, yes I do - those clunky mechanical timers that stuck out of the wall, we’re impossible to set properly and got off kilter whenever the electricity went out of the seasons changed. These smart plugs have made these old-fashioned plug-in timers obsolete.

I brought this one specifically because of its size. Its only 2" long and fits very nicely in double gang setup with 2 outlets and a rocker switch without blocking the switch. All other smart switches I have found are too long and block access to the switch. Being on sale was a bonus!

This year, we purchased these new, smaller smart plugs to fully automate our holiday lights - inside outdoor plug covers that would not accommodate the previous larger version. We even found the responsiveness was snappier than previous models.
