Initially I bought it because I just wanted something that I could program to work with ALEXA. However, after using this for quite a while I've noticed that every time WEMO rolls out software updates you have to reprogram the switch to work with ALEXA - who has time for that? I have also noticed that it runs warm in the outlet box so it is consuming quite a bit of power. I am soon going to be replacing it with a Lutron light switch, of which I already have and they work flawlessly. Lutron updates happen in the background without you having to get involved and do anything.

The Wemo Dimmer shouldn't need to be reprogrammed after a firmware update, as long as the remote access and the Linksys Skill is enabled. Also, the Wemo Dimmer comes with an overheat protection feature that senses heat inside the device.
