Great TV for the Price

I actually caught this TV on sale for $299 and after reading some of the reviews I was worried that I'd be getting a lemon TV initially I was going to return it for the 50 inch Sharp because the tv was a slow. But then I added an Amazon Fire Stick and the TV now has a smooth interface and responds to any click I make and the picture quality is really good for the price. I added a sound bar and BAM! Nobody can tell that I have a low end model TV. I'm happy with my purchase thus far and recommend that you get a Fire Stick, Apple TV, or Roku to supplement the TV. PS the TV doesn't come with Hulu I needed a Fire Stick that.

COMCAST remote code HERE ;)

For those that have COMCAST, you will need to use code 10111 to program the remote to this TV! Codes for Westinghouse in the remote list do not work with this model! Your welcome ;)

I really liked this tv. Everything was well worth it for the price. We also have larger tvs (Samsung and Vizio) and this one was not too far off.. Not to me anyway. We only had it for 4 months bc my 2 year old tapped the tv with a block and the top half of the screen actually cracked and went out! I found that weird bc he has done that to all of the others and they have not a scratch. Just be gentle!

It has functionality, but don't expect too much

We purchased this on the Deal of the Day. We had a few problems right away setting it up, as we were using it with Roku and an antenna. The auto search function to locate channels didn't work properly right away. We had to run it at least 4 times to obtain all the channels we knew were available. We also found the sound was reflected towards the wall more than it was towards us. When trying to rectify the sound situation with a sound bar we found out after calling Westinghouse (in India and having them mess the whole tv up) that the tv does not have an Audio out option, just Audio in. They said we need to use the Optical connection, which we plan to try tomorrow. If this does not work the tv goes back to the store. Ugh. The last thing we noticed is that we have problems with several channels not displaying properly for the aspect ratio. We did not have this problem with our Sanyo tv, so were surprised to see it on a new tv with more features. Again, we are using an antenna and Roku streaming, so if you have cable this may not be a problem for you. We have not tried the direct Wifi option yet, as most items we use are on the Roku anyway. We are typically not technically challenged, but this tv had us pulling our hair out.

Although this is a 1080P HDTV , I didnt see the quality in picture as compared to a similar different brand that I own. Straight out of the box and it shows a black line down the screen, needless to say I will be returning it. Haven"t decided if I will exchange it for same or a different manufacture.

Not what I expected

For the price it wasn't what I expected, wasn't much of a smart tv as it stated and only comes with 3 apps. The remote was small and didn't have numbers.

You can't beat the price of $299.99. For a 50" smart TV It's perfect! Great sounds and picture. Thinking of buying another. Recommended.

If it sounds too good to be true...

At $299 on sale, this was too good to be true. When I told the sales person that I wanted this tv, he said he wanted to be honest and that Westinghouse is their most returned tv. Since my tv was over 10 years old, I figured it had to be better than what i had. Nope!
The screen is dark, the picture quality goes between blurry and sharp within the span of a few minutes (watching the same movie), and there is what i can only describe as a trail that follows objects during scenes with a lot of action.
Within the first couple of hours of hooking it up, the screen went almost completely green then purple twice. Each time, I had to shut it off and turn it back on to get it to stop.
The remote works sporadically and the response time after pressing a button is really bad, too. It is definitely going back this weekend!

Work Good initially, but soon started freezing

It worked great at first, but started to freeze up every few days. Then the red light on the front started blinking and will not turn. It's not even 90 days old.

My friends and I bought this tv for college and it just stopped working. It flashes in and out and has vertical lines on the screen. We got this tv 5 months ago.
