The HBO show is much better than this. I like Brynner in this but not much more. Old movie can't touch the show.

I thought I would check this old movie from the old days out, I like it still.

A decent movie that is nothing like the HBO series. It plays like a 70s movie.

It's been years since I've seen this but, it fun watching it again.

Thought this would be a suspenseful sci-fi/western but turned out to be a pedestrian story that just barely keeps your attention. And the finally is just tepid. Too bad because I really like Yul Brynner but he can't rescue this.

I enjoyed seeing this distopian view of the future as imagined in the 70's. They had a pretty unique view of the theme park of the future. It was a bit long and boring for me but could be worth trying.

I read about this, sounded cool, got myself hyped up, and I thought it was dumb. Maybe if I was around when it originally came out, I'd feel differently.

Unfortunately I had to return this blu-ray that I ordered on line. When I got it the case was smash in, didn't want to take a chance with the disc.

I was hoping for a better set of supplements for this sci-fi classic, but I guess that we should be thankful that the film even got a wide blu-ray release. What we do get is a short "making of" featurette and the pilot episode for the TV series, Beyond Westworld. Now that this film has been released on blu-ray, I'm hoping that Warner will get around to releasing another Michael Crichton film, Looker, on the format in the near future.

I recently watched WESTWORLD for the first time after buying the Blu-ray version from Best Buy. Michael Crichton's concept of futuristic, high tech theme parks is excellent and is similar to his later JURASSIC PARK. Crichton was the writer/director of WESTWORLD with Yul Brynner starring as the Western gunslinger android based on his character Chris Adams from THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN. The biggest negative is that I first watched WESTWORLD in late 2013, Consequently, it appears dated in the writing, special effects, cinemaphotography, etc. compared to today's more sophisticated sci fi plots, digital special effects, etc. At times I felt like I was watching an old made-for-tv movie, The Blu-ray quality is adequate but not outstanding. The special features includes the tv pilot for the short-lived CBS tv series based on the movie---it was so bad, I stopped watching it after a few minutes. The tv series was canceled after only several episodes had aired due to poor ratings. WESTWORLD is an ok movie but it pales in comparison to Crichton's later JURASSIC PARK which beats its predecessor in every aspect.

My girlfriend mentioned an old movie called Westworld. I remembered seeing it a LONG time ago. I told her if anybody has it, Best Buy probably does. So i did an online search at Best Buy and sure enough, there it was. I ordered it, received it in my mailbox in about a week and we both watched it again. My, my ... how technology has changed !!! Still, worth watching. Thanks Best Buy

Before vacations attacked in "Jurassic Park" they came after wealthy pleasure seekers in Westworld. A terrific cast, solid effects and a wonderful remastering make this movie a must see.

Years before Jurassic Park (Which was penned by the Director of this film) the idea of living in cultures long since past made its way to the screen. While its not as solid as Jurassic Park, it has striking visuals and some very memorable moments.
