I received this and the bottom board’s corner was chipped off. Called Whalen and they said they’d ship a replacement board. Took a week and finally got it. It is broken into two pieces. Best Buy.com was useless to be honest.

Worst TV stand I ever purchase. You had to be a genius to put this stand together. Is like building a house from scratch with terrible directions.

Unit arrived damaged and with missing parts. Disappointed because it looked good in the pictures and was what I was looking for.

Tried to assemble this, the plastic fasteners would break and not latch properly. The glued wooden dowels would break out of the press board.

This piece was not worth the money. The end pieces were breaking as I was placing the screws. Returned it in broken pieces.

Didn't get it home. It's made of pressboard back panel broke when employees were putting it in my truck returned it

Out of the box, the console was scratched and a couple of pieces were warped. I sent it back to Best Buy,

Not good, yet. Best Buys is working on "making good" on the product.

Unit feel apart on the way home. Wouldn't recommend

Worst cabinet that I have ever built. Not designed well.

Ok, I did read the reviews before purchasing. Thought that maybe some got a lemon, some might not have known what they were doing, or some are just unhappy with anything. Boy, was I wrong! Figured this would be a good project for my son and I to take on. I have assembled many pieces of inexpensive assemble it yourself furniture over the years and thought this would be a good learning experience for him. Soon as I started putting the unit together, I immediately noticed problems. The front bottom wood piece is warped. Not talking a little. Just under an inch on the one end. Instructions call out to attach with plastic brackets. Yeah, those did not hold..... Luckily had some metal brackets and was able to add some screws and pull it in. As started using the CAM locks, noticed that many holes for the screws were drilled on an angle. This lead to a several of cam locks not sitting flush, and even damaged the really cheap particle board in the process. Thankfully most of the damage occurred on the inside of the cabinet where it will not show. More than one CAM lock was stripped just by tightening which only further proof that holes were not straight and the particle board is very low quality and also really cheap metal used for the CAM locks. Plus the screws were set into plastic anchors. Most of those did not make for the screws to go in perpendicular to the surface which only added to the problems. From there, on the middle shelf, the holes for the vertical piece was drilled off making the right door close to impossible to align. I was able to get it not to rub, but it is not square by any means. The doors, well, the predrilled holes were off. Not my first time hanging cabinet doors. But this was definitely the most challenging to try and align. Even with everything together, there are many fit issues. A couple of the panels are 1/8-1/4 inch short. There are visible gaps. Could not use dowels to hold together some of the panels as the holes were off. I could keep going on and on. I thought that for this price point that I would be getting something of good quality. I was sadly mistaken. I was too far into it to try and package it up and return. The only positive note is that the outside has a nice finish. Thankfully only 1 of the panels was damaged on the outside from the CAM locks. At least it taught my son some valuable lessons. Just because you pay more does not mean you are getting better quality. Also, even though it should go together with parts provided, you may need to improvise.

So unfortunately I purchased this TV stand because another one that I actually wanted was out of stock. This was brand new to the store so there was no reviews online. Its deceiving because looking at it from a few feet back it actually looks pretty nice. Also the pieces/boards seem to be solid. The issue is when you start putting together this cluster and realize you made a bad decision. First I'd like to say I have put together a lot of this type of self assemble furniture, so I'm far from new to this world. There was no missing pieces, instructions were good and everything was labeled well. Where you will run into issues is when trying to line up pieces to put them together. The system is pretty typical where you have half bored holes that have the circular locking hardware that will lock to a screwed in male end. In addition there are dowels that you need to glue in. Long story short these areas just did not align correctly or poorly. I had issues with the the male end of the screwed in hardware being long enough to lock in properly to the circular locking hardware. This caused me to either have to not screw that male end hardware all the way in or use L brackets I had to purchase separately to reinforce where two section came together. The worst of this was the base, which in one corner didn't align at all causing me to have to only use the hardware I purchased separately. I didn't return it because everything was taken out of the box and it would have been more of a hassle to do that than to come up with a solution myself.

The box is heavy, the assembly takes about 3hrs with no help but it is so worth it. It makes the tv looks great. I used the top part of the side cabinet for cable management which made my million wires disappear. The clearance price is unbeatable.

Please take all the reviews seriously. This is not a quality piece of furniture. The only saving grace is that I purchased this at clearance price of $129, if I had paid full price of $499 I would have packed this piece of junk up and taken it back. Whalen needs to spend a little more money on better hardware. They cam lock pins screw into a pre-set piece of plastic or hard rubber and the don't screw in straight, nothing lines up. Then when you tighten the cam locks they don't grab the pins properly and it splits almost every piece of partial board, and doesn't hold it tight.. The base board is warped and those cheap plastic brackets can't straighten the board out. I had to go to the hardware store and buy some metal L-brackets and better can locks. The stand is assembled but is not very solid. Most the other reviews say the same thing, and whales reply is always : "we will forward your review to our quality control department so we can always improve our products" Obviously they never do because they have had the same reviews for years now and nothing has changed. (Spend a little bit more money on better hardware and stop worrying about maximizing your profit margin). I would not recommend to a friend, and if I were you I would spend the same amount of money on a quality "SOLID" piece of wood furniture. Pros : looks.nice, clearance price Cons: retail price, cheap hardware, partical board that splits easily, I can not re-iderate that this is not worth the retail price. Spend your money on a solid piece of wood tv stand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The cabinet itself looks great. It also comes with glass to switch out the wood panels on the doors. The build though is not the greatest and could be done better. I didn't like the fact that you had to use dowels and glue them in. These twist caps to hold the screw down and the connecting panel are dumb and leaves you questioning whether or not it will stay standing. Thankfully we aren't putting a TV on this stand. It's mounted on the wall and we needed somewhere to put the direct TV box and blu-ray. I don't know if I'd trust it to hold a TV.

,I AN VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT. THIS WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO PUT TOGETHER. THE TOP PORTION DOES NOT FIT TIGHT AND FLUSH AND IS LOOSE IF YOU PULL UP. OVERALL, I AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT. CAN I RETURN IT NOW THAT ITS BEEN ASSEMBLED ? WHAT IS THE POLICY ON THIS ? Found this in store and thought this would be just what I needed to complete my entertainment center. All pieces were present and undamaged. Had problems with installation from start. I am not a newbie when assembling items. Cam bolts were too short. Cam locks dropped out continuously after locking, even after tightening. Sides would not stay attached to front and back. Would not snug up with cams tightend and dowels glued with wood glue. Pieces of wood began to fragment around cam assemblies. Finally got to end installation, flipped cabinet up. Set object of equal weight on cabinet, heard cracking and it collapsed. Glad new TV wasn't on it. Ended up buying another entertainment center, which added to my expenses. Not good purchase for me. I would not recommend this product.

I do not write reviews often. Read the reviews and had my doubts but am pretty good at getting things done. My wife and I had this together in 1.5 hrs. Had some very minor issues but nothing that was project stopping. Broke no cam locks, just be careful. Online price was 299 on clearance, but when I got to the store the price was 199. It is a very nice piece of furniture for home assembled!!!

Don't waste your money... Brittle hardware and substandard pressboard. I spent more time repairing this thing as I did assembling it. If you do decide to attempt building/reconstructing this pile of kindling, do yourself a favor and get a large bottle of wood glue. You'll need it.

Don’t be fooled by it’s beautiful style. This is a cheap piece of junk. It was impossible to assemble due to wood that was bowed, miss alignment of holes, cheap plastic fittings, and screws that are too short. I even tried to purchase hardware that would fit properly. The unit started to crumble during the earliest part of assembly. I returned it to Best Buy for a refund ( they were great with the return) The only issue I have with Best Buy is....after all the negative reviews of this product, why would you carry it in your store? Shame on them for selling Whalen products. I will be reading reviews before I make a future purchase at Best Buy.
