Each time we ordered it was cancelled... we spent hours trying to get this ordered... it has been a terrible experience

It has been over a month and they haven't delivered it yet and have rescheduled the delivery 5 times I feel jerked around

If I were to ever receive from best buy I could rate it. Taken a month to deliver and still nothing.

No show 3 times on install appointments. You subcontractor installer is running your business!

Like most, i needed a low profile MW for the same reasons. Installation is a bit tricky, so i agree with the others pointing this out. I have installed several such over the range MW’s and this one was confusing, mostly due to poorly written instructions. They refer to the “template”, but none was included. It turns out the bracket serves as the template. They never mentioned it. I made one out of the cardboard box it came in. A few things a bit unusual about this microwave. 1) It extends out from the wall a few inches more than a traditional microwave. I guess they needed the space to pack in all the things thst go in the additional volume of a traditional microwave. Its not a problem but takes some getting use to, seeing it protude from the front of the cabinets. Second, they need to move the mounting screw holes on the top, which draw the MW up to the bottom of the cabinet. They are so far out from the back of the wall, they are practically outside of the cabinet. I hsd difficulty drilling the holes they were SO CLOSE to the front frame of the cabinet. 3). Most MW functions are “programmed”. And it works well, but until reading these reviews and visiting the Whirlpool website, i did not think you could just set a manual entry cook time and power level. I am glad you can. I thought it was an all programmed MW. FROM THAT PERSPECTIVE, its well thought out, especially now that i know i can also manually set a time and non100% power level. Its pretty cool looking, but takes time to remember you have to set all your cook instructions before closing the door. Some mentioned you can only open the door by pushing a button, which is true, and i like. But there is a notch underneath, so you can manually grab. and open the door as well. Just feel around for it and you will find it.

I rarely give out 5-star reviews; this microwave is deserving. I love the low profile design; the microwave is not in your face as you are trying to cook. This is my first over the range micro and largely due to the others being so huge that they would be in the way. The design is sleek and lovely. The fan and light underneath are very powerful with high and low options. The microwave heats very evenly and is quiet. The only negative is that the chime when the micro is done is so low that you can't hear it unless you are standing beside it. Overall - great job!

Throw the installation instructions away. The quick install instructions on the template ( which is also the hanging bracket) don't really help either and combined with the written instructions will do nothing but shorten your life. Absolute total confusion. Thank god for you tube videos! I learned properly how to install this well thought out install process in all of 3 minutes. Firstly, the unit IS set up initially for recirculation, it took me forever to figure this out. Secondly, don't bend the top 2 tabs with the holes in them til after you've used the template( in this instance) to mark your power cord hole ( through the bottom of the overhead cabinet, not into the wall as the instructions may lead you to believe) , and marked the 2 holes ( through the 2 holes in the 2 tabs) that will allow you to secure the unit with provided screws to the bottom of the cabinet. Atfter that is done your template now becomes the hanging bracket when you bend the tabs to the square holes. Thirdly, forget the toggle bolts. Just find 2 studs to use the lag screws on. If the wholes in the hanging bracket ( formerly template) don't match the stud locations then just bore your own. Great product for us. We only had 12 inches from bottom of over range cabinet to the bottom of the cabinets either side of it. Couldn't raise the center cabinet. Powerful recirc fan , plenty more space than you think. Would recommend. Not exactly smudge proof stainless.

Excellent Microwave! Whirlpool always made good appliances. My mom had a washer from the 1960's which got me hooked on Whirlpool Appliances!

Initially returned this microwave for a few reasons: Cool kelvin lighting inconsistent with my kitchen lighting. Very noticeable to me. Absence of "quick" settings -- no 1 minute, 2 minute, 3 minute settings for example. I cook mac n cheese for grandkids all the time. Easiest method is to click on 30-second button 6 times. on. VERY complex controls. Magnetron makes a loud noise for a few seconds when initiating. I returned this model and ordered a Samsung which had halogen lighting instead of LED. Halogen should have warmer kelvin rating, I thought. Found out the hard way that Samsung was worse than the Whirlpool. Dim light, not a pleasing warm tone at all. VERY loud magnetron sound at startup. Interior of samsung is dark vs. the light / stainless color on interior of Whirlpool. Sides (left and right wides) of Samsung are black and tacky looking with visible screws vs. clean modern stainless on left and right sides of the Whirlpool. Controls on Samsung are even worse than the Whirlpool. No quick settings, NOT EVEN A TIMER. Interior height of Samsung a little shorter than the Whirlpool -- had trouble fitting one of my usual cooking containers in the Samsung. I wound up returning the Samsung, and re purchased the Whirlpool. If I were redesigning a kitchen instead of replacing an over-the-range microwave, I would get standalone microwave and put it in a cabinet or some other inconspicuous place. I miss my GE Spacemaker's excellent controls and ability to multitask, i.e. both the timer function and the heat function can be used simultaneously.

Obviously the main reason anyone would purchase this microwave is because it is low profile. It does have some issues which I will discuss. First and foremost the touch buttons are very unresponsive and must be touched with the exact right pressure and in the exact right spot for them to even acknowledge that they were touched. Next the fact that it is so sleek in design and hides the buttons is somewhat inconvenient and means that you have to open the door to type in time. This will undoubtedly take you a long time to get used to considering most people have never owned a microwave that you have to type the time in before you shut the door. Other than that the microwave works great as it should for one of this price. Whirlpool, if you’re listening and reading these reviews make better buttons and stop hiding them with the door and you have a winner.

The directions for using this appliance are not clearly written. Also it is difficult to replace the filters. But I like the microwave.

This is the Best microwave we ever have had. It is easy to use and looks good too.

It's a very handsome microwave with good power and a decent set of features. Unfortunately, the button to open the door has already broken. (This just isn't surprising somehow) We can still open it manually by just pulling it open, so it's not dead, but now we've got to consider the warranty process. It's only been 2 months of light use, what else might break next?

Purchased new range & 16” deep microwave was too big. Purchased this microwave. Absolutely love it. Great features & decreased interior height has not been a problem. Cooks perfectly. Great over the range light. Exhaust system works great. It does stick out from the cabinet a little further than other microwave but no problem at all. We love the way it looks & the awesome space between ceramic range top & bottom of microwave. We would have had to cut out a cabinet if we had not found the microwave. Even made small kitchen look larger. We couldn’t be happier! Thank you Justin. You are awesome!
