The low profile is great and looks much sleeker than the big blocky microwaves. However, there is an engineering issue with the glass tray and 3 wheel plastic device under the glass tray. The glass dish does not fit into the piece in the center of the microwave well at all. The plastic 3 wheel device moves all over. Both of those issues cause the glass tray to wobble all over and become unaligned. It is very frustrating especially when you have something a bit heavier (glass dish). It is even more fun when you are warming a cup of tea and the entire thing becomes off balance tipping the hot cup of liquid while it is on and in motion. I've called Whirlpool twice. The first time they sent a new glass dish and plastic 3 wheel device. It did not help at all. I called again to ask what Whirlpool would do for me as a customer and I was told the only thing they could do is offer a free 1 year customer service agreement. Why? It is an engineering defect - not a broken microwave. So I requested a supervisor. I was placed on hold for 43 minutes to speak with a supervisor. Her only option was to have someone come out and maintenance it. From day one I have had this issue. Yet, Whirlpool is making this my inconvenience now.

Looks great. But, it doesn’t heat consistently or thoroughly. Center of what you cook is never heated.

It looks great, but pretty quickly the Clock and 4 button stopped working. Whirlpool support has been poor and the replacement part is about 1/3 of the way towards just buying a new one.

The turnntable keeps falling off of the rim that has the wheels. It is not round more of a triangle. Design sucks

It worked fine for 3 years but then needed a diode replaced. The Whirlpool dishwaser also lasted 3 years. Can't turn the turntable off.

had issues right out of the box, great size, but reliability is questionable.

I bought in May 2019. The turn table is poorly designed and is always getting out of position. It technically works, but I have never experienced a microwave with a more temperamental turn table and more often than not doesn't work. I liked the concept of the low profile, but it makes the microwave far too high and I am 5'6". Every time I open the door I feel like it is going to hit me in the face. Finally it chose to totally die today for no known reason. With taxes, delivery, installation, etc. I paid about $650 for this microwave. Warranty of course ended at a year. Breaker does not appear to have blown. So most likely I will be purchasing a new microwave when this one was still under 2 years old.

I had a total kitchen remodel and purchased this microwave. I have all Whirlpool appliances because, of course you want to match. After 10 months, the light went out. Supposed to be LED but it is not. You cannot order another bulb. You need a technician to come out. After several calls, and a month later, I still do not have a bulb. Certified Technician was not familiar with the model, took pictures. Calls to Whirlpool unsatisfactory. Have now spent over 7 hours on calls, took a day off for Technician. Will need another day off after "parts on order". If bulb will only last a few months and you are not able to order a replacement yourself, expect to spend at least $100's on a bulb every 8 - 10 months plus your time and energy. Considering returning all Whirlpool products. Microwave made in China.

Bought this OTR microwave for the space saving, design,style, and the fact that it could be used as a re-circulating vent (not vented outside). The venting is pretty much non existing. The unit has a 4 speed fan but I'm not sure what it does since it does not draw any air up from the bottom at any speed. Pretty disappointed if I known or read this on another review I would not have spend $$$ on this unit. If you want to use this with the re-circulating option be aware it does not work very well.

This unit is great in theory but poor in FUNCTION. Saves space where you want and need it, but the controls are partly behind the door and only three functions are from the outside which is inconvenient. Beware the less expensive model shows fingerprints, and the food WILL NOT heat evenly throughout unless you buy a different brand like Kitchen aid with a "sensor" feature which I believe solves this. For the money this was a disappointment it solves one challenge at the expense of an IMPORTANT function.

The microwave was installed last August and already is not working. Last evening I put something in and after it was finished the door would not open. I called for service and was told I will have to wait 6 days before someone can come. I do like the look of this microwave and it’s very easy to operate.

Bought this in 2018, so after 3 years of use it stopped working. when the door opened the inside light would not illuminate and when the door was closed none of the buttons would work. Was told I needed at new latch which I bought to discover that the new part does match my model WML55011HB - extremely disappointing and frustrating and to get a replacement will take another 3 months!

Worked ok for 2 years , the plastic button that determines if the door is closed broke, making it useless today.

This is the worst designed product. The door hits you on the head when you’re using it. The turn table does not work correctly and is always lopsided no matter how many times you reset it. The glass turntable broke within 2 months of use and it took another 4 months to get the replacement.

Peeling paint inside microwave.the material inside is peeling and it’s rusting.

This model does not support changing the position of the vent motor to vent the air on top but instead you have to switch some covers on the top that should redirect the air to the upper exhaust vent. This is causing the air(smell) partially entering back in your kitchen. Poor manufacturing design.
