Obviously the main reason anyone would purchase this microwave is because it is low profile. It does have some issues which I will discuss. First and foremost the touch buttons are very unresponsive and must be touched with the exact right pressure and in the exact right spot for them to even acknowledge that they were touched. Next the fact that it is so sleek in design and hides the buttons is somewhat inconvenient and means that you have to open the door to type in time. This will undoubtedly take you a long time to get used to considering most people have never owned a microwave that you have to type the time in before you shut the door. Other than that the microwave works great as it should for one of this price. Whirlpool, if you’re listening and reading these reviews make better buttons and stop hiding them with the door and you have a winner.

The directions for using this appliance are not clearly written. Also it is difficult to replace the filters. But I like the microwave.

Fits perfect, easy to use and installation was done professionally, quick and ontime. I would recommend anyone in need of low profile over the range get this one.

It's a very handsome microwave with good power and a decent set of features. Unfortunately, the button to open the door has already broken. (This just isn't surprising somehow) We can still open it manually by just pulling it open, so it's not dead, but now we've got to consider the warranty process. It's only been 2 months of light use, what else might break next?

Purchased new range & 16” deep microwave was too big. Purchased this microwave. Absolutely love it. Great features & decreased interior height has not been a problem. Cooks perfectly. Great over the range light. Exhaust system works great. It does stick out from the cabinet a little further than other microwave but no problem at all. We love the way it looks & the awesome space between ceramic range top & bottom of microwave. We would have had to cut out a cabinet if we had not found the microwave. Even made small kitchen look larger. We couldn’t be happier! Thank you Justin. You are awesome!

Low Profile equals a slightly smaller interior but it meet my needs. Cleans up easily. Was heavy and slightly difficult to install. Needed two people to do it. Buttons are hidden by the door which takes a lot of getting used to. Volume is low when timer goes off or cycle ends. No way to adjust. Even with those few drawbacks, I wouldn’t change my decision. I love this microwave thus far!

I am mostly happy with this microwave. It fits nicely above my gas cooktop, and it works well. However, there is one design flaw. The plastic track that holds the turntable in place is triangular. This doesn't make a whole lot of sense, since the turntable is circular. No matter how careful you are to place the turntable in the slots, many times the track does not match up properly and the turntable slips out, causing it to go off balance and wobble. This is very frustrating.

Did a bit of research and settled on this one after seeing many good reviews and positive feedback on Consumer Reports. So far this has not disappointed. We have a small kitchen, so the countertop space it saves and the above the stove space it saves makes a huge difference. It sticks out from under the cabinet a little further than other OtR units but I don't find it unsightly. This unit might not heat food as evenly, so we tend to cook a little longer sometimes, especially for more dense foods. Though it really hasn't been too bad and works very well otherwise. The stove exhaust fan works fantastically and much better than our previous unit. We had a one problem with instructions for the mounting but it wasn't terrible to fix once we figured it out. You definitely want two people around work on mounting it or hiring a professional, as it is heavy and wouldn't really be possible for one person to do on their own.

it looks good and when it works it's fine but since I had this microwave some times when you open the door the light doesn't come on and if the light don't come on it will not cook this is a huge inconvenience and for a microwave of this price is not a good thing the reason I picked this one is because the lack of space I have

If the space you have can't accommodate a larger microwave, your options are very limited. This unit fit the bill for us. The microwave works well enough, and fits in a tight space, which is great. It lacks some of the features of the larger units, but that's a concession to the small form factor. That said, the installation instructions are poor at best, and in some cases, they're flat out wrong. The instructions refer to installation templates, but none were included in the box. At one point in the installation process, the instructions indicate that the bottom of the mounting plate should be 17 1/4" from the bottom of the cabinet, but the microwave is only 10.5" tall. So if you follow the instructions, your mounting plate will be too low by a hilarious margin. So, the microwave is fine, but if you're planning on installing it yourself, prepare to be frustrated.

It's very nice however, I've had it less than 2 years. It's seldomly used. I warmed something up, took the plate out and the door does not close. Nothing was preventing it from closing. I have the door taped up waiting on an appointment to come check if it can be repaired. Note to self, will buy the protection plan next time. But, for the price, I figured it would last a little longer without any mishaps.

Very convenient for small places its a conversation starter

Very sleek and cool looking. Kind of a pain to install. My biggest complaint by far is the fact that the “popcorn” button just messed up 3 bags of popcorn. I don’t know if it’s not powerful enough or what, but I had to just put the bag in and hit 2 minutes. Oh and the end alert/chime thing goes off like 4 times for 10 seconds. The fan works great and the microwave is quite. I read someone else say it sticks out quite a bit. If you do not have newer upper cabinets, it will stick out quite a bit. But it’s a combination hood/ microwave.... so it sticks out above the stove, like it’s a hood for the stove. Like it’s supposed to.

We purchased this microwave and was installed yesterday, the absolute best! Simple all around, and more room to cook on your stove, strong ventilation even on Low setting, easy to clean! Highly recommend!

Great item so far, saves us a lot of space in our tiny kitchen

So far doing well. I like the look of it over my stove and it gives me a lot more room to cook on stove than the old regular sized one did. I also like the charcoal filter and ability to replace. My first one was damaged and 5 days past replacement when I tried to install. Best Buy gave me another one anyway. Thanks you Best Buy

awesome! you do not need the big kind, everything fits in here. btw the start button should be pushed, just touched (some folks said the button wore out). The only negative...the light underneath is not very bright, we were hoping it would do a better job lighting up our stovetop.

Awesome product!!!! The microwave went in relatively quick however if you're using a fan systems or existing duct out of the house be prepared for a little longer process. Especially if you're a Type A personality. There are a number of steps that have to be followed in order for the drag out system to be effective. Overall would definitely recommend this microwave!!!
