Does heat the center very well

However, it doesn't heat up the center very well. So you'll have a plate of food that's hot around the edges but still kinda cool in the middle.

We looked into many options but found this and its the best of both worlds. Cant microwave anything tall in it but small price to pay for having mores space above the stove. She is very happy with it and excited for it to be installed.

Only draw back is due to color in that the black is a tough clean… probably tougher to wipe clean than the stainless model.

The height of a traditional unit is too tall to fit over my stovetop and under the overhead cabinet without taking up a lot of clearance. This unit fits perfectly! It is deeper than a traditional over the range microwave because it recirculates from the top rather than the bottom, but I'm fine with that to get it off the countertop.
