I love this microwave, it takes up less space and the look of it just upgrades my kitchen. Its also easy to clean and to use.

I was in need of a shallow microwave for over my stove as I don't have traditional cabinets and didn't want to modify them. This microwave looks nice, works well, and I get compliments on it often. It also has an electronic door release which is pretty neat!

We replaced our large, older unit with this microwave. I love the low profile - it opens up so much more height above the stove below! The front of the microwave is sleek and easy to clean. I don't mind that the depth of the microwave sticks out from the face of our cabinets a couple of inches more than our old microwave. I like that the buttons are concealed inside the door. Installation was a bit tricky and we ended up moving the oven out from the wall in order to get enough of an angle required when mounting the new microwave. Fortunately, we only had to do that once! Highly recommend!

First of all I’m not a fan of Best Buy and there prices and I thought I was paying a premium for this microwave because it could fit in a small foot print. Not so, it has useful features not found on full size under cabinet microwaves. I have only had it installed for a week so I can’t speak for longevity but it seems like a very well made unit. The installation was easy as long as you put down the instructions and instead watch a the utube video which explains that the back plate is also the top mounting hole template. The feature are great right down to the pleasing tones it uses. The local venting also works better than expected. Cook power is good and it has room for 99% of what you use a microwave for. Definitely recommended for people with limit cabinetry height and even for those who have the height for a normal microwave and don’t mind paying a premium.

The height was my main concern. While this over the range microwave was quite a bit more expensive than most, the 10” height is what I was looking for. I did not pay attention to the depth and at 18 1/2” a good bit deeper than standard, but I’ve gotten used to that. I like the fact that the touch pad is inside the door, making for a more streamlined facade. However, the button to open electronically is an unnecessary feature which seems like one more thing to go wrong. I have been unsuccessful in getting through Whirlpool’s phone tree to find out if manual opening is contraindicated. I miss the 30 second button and the ability to just hit 1 - 6 to get 1 - 6 minutes instantly.

Very sleek design. Classy look. Thought it would be too small for most containers, but they fit just right. Very functional and takes up much less space

The only one that fits in the hood, The microwave is super quiet and good at heating. Hood is amazing if you don’t have vents as the carbon filter takes all the smell away. It’s noisy but less than my old hood, at low it’s very quiet. The led light could be improved

Perfect addition to the rest of my new LG appliances. It works great so far, has a pleasing chime when cooking or timer is done, and has, because who can be bothered with manually opening a door in 2022, a button to auto open the door! The 'pro' to that button is that the chime is silenced as soon as you push it - not so with manually opening. The front view appearance is quite sleek since the number pad buttons are only accessible after opening the door, which I'm getting more used to every day honestly. Since it is shorter in height, meaning the actual bottom of the unit sits several inches above other OTR units, it opens up a lot of visible/working space between bottom of it and top of stove. Likely you to will want to add or extend existing backsplash to cover up holes in the wall from the previous unit (I'm doing a simple $50 piece of stainless from a big box diy store). Lastly, it is a bit more of a reach to insert or remove items due to its increased height - so additional care with hot liquids for sure. If you nuke items in tall containers often, this isn't for you, but reheating leftovers, frozen Veestro dinners, boiling water in a 2-cup measuring cup and the like + you're not overly height challenged - it's an awesome microwave.

First off, I love this microwave. It's compact, elegant, cooks like a boss, and fits mugs, takeout containers, and full size dinner plates. What more do you need? I installed it myself, and outside of the weight and the fact that you *will* need 2 people to install it, it was easy to install. I think altogether, including removing old microwave, retrofitting vent and installing a plug in the cabinet, it took us about 4 hours. However, from the very first time I used it the door is inconsistent about opening. This is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars and if Whirlpool has a solution for this I'd bump this to 5 stars easily. When I say 'inconsistent' I mean I have to hit the button 3x or more to get it to finally open, and there's no way to pull it open. So basically, if the door doesn't decide to open then your microwave doesn't work.

We’ve had the Whirlpool Microwave for about 3 weeks now. This was a replacement for a “standard” size over the range microwave. Installation was straight forward, of course new holes were needed because the cord and support screws were in different places than the Samsung it replaced. Another thing to consider when replacing a standard size is that a portion of the wall will be revealed that has been hidden and may need repair. Mine had large holes and we had installed a ceramic wall splash that dipped down and around the old microwave, made a decorative panel to mimic the cabinets to cover this. The microwave has worked flawlessly. This may be a bit smaller but it has all the power of the standard size. Programing before you close the door takes some getting used to. Auto door opener is a nice option. Haven’t found anything that we normally microwave that does not fit in this one. The improved access to the stove top is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is the chime this emits. Its a cute little multi tone but very high frequency. I’m a vintage person and can’t hardly hear it across the room, any background noise, like having the TV on, forget it. I can tell when the microwave stops, but the alarm is worthless.

More safe microwave to get because it’s not too close to the stove. I brought it because it’s more compact and a great modern look.

Love this microwave- I really love it because I have a very small kitchen and it’s perfect. It’s the nicest microwave I’ve ever owned.

This is by far the best microwave I have owned! It has so many useful features. I particularly like : food sensing, multiple mode fan and light level, the welcome and enjoy message ( cute) , low profile, and so many preset food cooking options. It sits beautifully above the range with great space between the two. Love this black stainless steel material

This over the range was a beautiful surprise! My husband showed this one for our home and I thought it would be too tech but it was just the right amount of tech. Super simple to learn how to use and love how it doesn't get dirty when I cook. It's the right height for our kitchen. Highly recommend.

Was looking for a microwave that would fit above my range and not hang too low. Also needed it to vent. I am so happy and grateful someone finally made a microwave with theses dimensions. It is wide enough for a full large plate and even though it is not very tall it fits a large Pyrex dish. The fan is great, cooks well and looks more sleek then a regular microwave. I absolutely love it.

Replaced my standard size over the oven microwave with the Whirlpool. Easy to install as the template for marking the holes is actually the mounting bracket itself which is metal. No measuring or working with a paper template. The micro wave is great, 4 fan speeds and the low one is not that loud. I typically do not used the fan as I have a built in in-line fan in my duct work. The oven controls are simple and when the timer goes off it is not that loud, but noticeable. You can set the level. The only consideration for not getting the micro wave is I have mine mounted to the cabinet which is high and at 5' 9" i can just see the food I put in the microwave to heat. Any higher or a shorter person would not see the food as it is heating. Contrarily to another reviewer, the light on the bottom of the microwave lights up my entire cook top, not the back wall as the reviewer describe with a picture. So this is a great microwave if you want a low profile one. No cons for me. I have used the microwave for about 2 months, so far so good. I like having the controls in the inside of the door where it is not noticeable.

This is the perfect solution if you don't want to move cabinets. Fits right where an overhead stove light would go. I love that the microwave is off the counter! It works great. Everything I've tried fits inside.

loved the ease of insulation. the microwave performed better then i expected. i would recomend this product to anyone looking for a top quality microwave with the bonus of five inches of additional space over your stove top.

This microwave is a great addition to the small space we have above our stove. It’s quiet and spacious. It took some getting used to for the button placement but it’s light and fan work well and I highly recommend anyone buying this that has a small space to place it. Installation and placement were also easy.

This microwave is just what we needed to reduce the profile of the microwave over our new gas range. It vents very well and is VERY powerful. The only negative and it is a small one is the front visual controls that attract fingerprints to the start/open tabs. Other than that this has been a very nice addition to our remodeled kitchen.
