Whirlpool - 1.1 Cu. Ft. Low Profile Over-the-Range Microwave Hood Combination with Hidden Control Panel - Stainless Steel

I replaced a standard over-the-range microwave with this low-profile Whirlpool model, and I love the difference. It gives the kitchen a much cleaner, more elevated look while still providing plenty of space for everything we normally heat or cook. Because the previous microwave was larger, I needed additional backsplash tile installed, so I had this professionally installed. The extra work was worth it. We are not cooking anything oversized in a microwave, so the smaller interior has not been a problem at all. It looks great, works well, and is exactly what we needed

This is perfect for those that have a range hood, but would rather have an over the range microwave. The cabinet above my range was 18” tall which did not allow for an OTR microwave because the bottom would be too close to the cooktop. This OTR microwave was perfect because it’s only 10-1/4” tall. So after the install, I have 19-1/8” to the bottom of the microwave which is plenty of space. The install was easy. The mounting bracket also doubles as a template for the holes that need to be drilled into the cabinet. This is much easier and faster than trying to deal with paper templates that come with other OTR microwaves. The hardest part was adding an outlet for the microwave to plug into.....and that’s not really hard at all! The microwave is very quiet, but yet powerful. The 3 speed fan is also quiet and powerful. There is also an LED light that shines on the cooktop. This microwave is sleek in design, but very roomy on the inside. I can put a 6” tall bowl in it with no trouble. It has a feature that lets one turn off the turntable that will let one put a 13x9 dish in it with ease. I can not speak for it’s longevity as I have only had it for a few days. I am very happy I made this purchase.

Overall decent buying experience with best buy. However you could do without the mask police at the front door. The low profile whirlpool microwave we purchased works well for the space. Looks sleek a little pricey for a microwave but that seems to be the way with low profile. Has some cool features like the touch screen is like your phone you don't have to use pressure. To open you lightly touch and " bink" it pops open ...kinda cool ..heats food good and easy to dyi install!

I love how small and stylish this microwave is. I just re-modeled my kitchen with new cabinets, tile, quartz, and other appliances. I did not intend on buying a microwave because I do not use them, but my husband insisted. I also did not want to spend a lot on the "other brand" microwave and found this one. It is very spacious with more than enough room to cook or re-heat anything. The under-microwave lights are a nice addition to illuminate your cooktop, and the fans seem to be fine and not too loud. It looks as good or better than the competition but at a much lower price. I would definitely purchase this again.

Space saver! Works great, doesn't take up as much room as I thought it would, which is great. Looks nice, clean look with buttons under the door, but takes some getting used to. I'm glad the 30 second/start button is on the outside. Wish it had the quick minute buttons, for one minute or two minutes, I do miss that. I like the music it plays when it's done, that's nice. It also plays as a reminder if you forget your coffee or whatever in there.
