Q: what is the internal height of the unit, ie how tall of a travel cup can you put in it?

Q: How many inches are needed per the manufacture from the bottom of the microwave to the stove top?
A: Hi Vic. The required distance depends on what type of cooking surface is on the range as well as building codes. The link below is from the GE website for appliance clearances and states that if it is installed over an electric, induction or gas range, the distance between the top of the range and the bottom of the microwave/hood should be between 13" - 16". The unit can NOT be installed over any cooking surface with a combined burner output above 60,000 BTUs. Hope this helps. A: After installation, we had to have the fuse and the lightbulb replaced. When I installed the new lightbulb. I was disappointed that it wasn't as bright as the first time I turned the light on. Perhaps I had a 40 watt bulb, but they replaced it with a 25 watt bulb. Not sure. Would be interested in knowing this.
A: In response to changing the halogen for a LED. Whirlpool says you can not use a LED bulb where they built for a halogen. I wish I could. That would be a quick easy fix.
A: Christy, this microwave is connected to both the cabinet and wall. It will need a wall behind it.
Q: Is there a light at bottom of unit?
A: Yes, and it’s adjustable.

Very nice!
I really like this low profile microwave. Be aware that if you are replacing a regular size over-the-stove, you will have to cover holes because the low profile is a lot higher up the wall. Also, it sticks out a little further than the other one. I love it though and I have much more room over my stove. One thing I am concerned about is that the door opens with a button, no handle. Hopefully that will last for the life of the microwave.
