So far, so good. My main complaint for over-the-stove microwaves is that they all seem to have different measurements, which means I have several sets of holes drilled into my wall for support, and each new microwave is a new set. I've had Whirlpool -> Samsung -> now this Whirlpool microwave. The Samsung one was free when we replaced the other appliances, and that one was a dud-- the moisture sensor was the first thing to go, and then the cheap door mechanism broke (I fixed that with some metal jewelry glue) so the door wouldn't shut, and then it would shut off after a few minutes of usage. Anyway, this Whirlpool model is better, so far, because the floor of it is lower, allowing family members to more easily see into it without stools or blind reaching. It works as expected, so far. My favorite part is that if you long press "2" until it beeps, it disables ALL keypad beeps and "done" signals. I don't like waking people up when making late night or early morning snacks!

We have been a whirlpool home for as long as I can thing, and all of our products work quite well at the house.... with the exception of this microwave. This microwave was used at my main home and not at any of my rental properties. Microwave is currently less than 2 years old, and when it works, it works great, it's really nice and the fan and light work well, including the night light function and it heats up items relatively quick compared to other similar models. When did our issues started: The interior light has been flickering since day 1, light only flickers when the door is open and not while it is heating items which tells me that there is something wrong with the sensor that tells it whether the door is open or not. Also, the door has always had issues shutting since day 1, it will bounce back sometimes and not lock in place (not always, but often enough to be irritating). I'm kind of disappointed of how soon this item failed: From day 1 Glad this happened now since this summer I was planning on remodeling one of my rental properties and we have always purchased all Whirlpool appliances. I have always been tempted to try Samsung or LG appliances since they also look nice and of good quality. I will take my time and review all appliance manufacturers before this summer when my tenant moves out in July and decide by then what brand do we go with, or if we end up with Whirlpool again. Interesting fact is that for my rental properties I get the extended warranties and not for my home, and the one that failed was at my main home, luck was not on my side this time.

We have a huge concern with the door apparently NOT closing. The LCD displays the word "door" and the unit can't be used until we open and close the door again to bypass the safety switch. There is a huge gap that doesn't look right at the door hinge. It looks as if the door doesn't seat properly. Of course that being the case, it is a serious safety hazard for the door not to close and the switch being bypassed. That would mean there is microwave radiation exposure. This "door" message happens EVERY day. Whirlpool says there is NOTHING more they can do.

Delivery and installation get perfect rating. Microwave is very nice, but the door is a bit stiff and noisy, have to slightly slam it shut. So far, it cooks evenly and well.

We replaced an over-the-stove microwave that was 9 years old. We purchased the same make and comparable model. The new microwave does not seem to be as substantially built as the previous one. The door seems hollow when closed. It works fine so far.

It’s a good appliance but the door is not as smooth when closing it’s loud

Everything about this microwave is great except it is hard to close the door quietly. But it’s not any louder than other microwaves. The best feature is the option to silence all the loud beeping that most microwaves have!!

It works great. It is a basic model and you can tell it as the door sounds rather tinnie when it closes. Other than that it is fine.

It’s a good microwave. The door is slightly stiff and it’s loud when you close the door. Otherwise, it does it job!

Sometimes when I close the door the Micro wave will not start. It says door on front. It was totally closed but I open it and reclose it and it works. There must be something wrong with the latch. I hope it doesn't get worse. This does not make me very happy.

Had it few weeks and the door fell off. Of it. I cannot get it to stay. Doesn’t seem to be good manufacturing.

Nice replacement for the old broken whirlpool microwave. Didn't have to replace the old mounting bracket and the old bolt holes so installation is relatively easy. The complain I have is that the fan has only 2 settings unlike the old model that has 3. And the door slams loud when closing.

Works great but the door is hard to open and close. Also door makes loud noise when opening and closing. Very annoying!

Fantastic microwave that is let down by an awful fan. Boiled water on my smoothtop electric stove steams past the vent, up the front of the microwave and up my cabinets to the ceiling. The vent is piped with 6” rigid duct with one 90 and a total run of 10’. The fan does pull smoke and steam from pots and pans toward the back of the cooktop. It is impractical to boil water at the back because those are small elements. Furthermore, the condensation is starting to get between the layers of glass on the door at the top left.

I bought this about 7 years ago...right away the light bulb underneath blew. Then after a couple years the outside of the door started to crack. Now there is a big chuck about to fall out underneath the door. Maybe because it is plastic. Over the oven microwaves are not so great, but if your going to do it, go for the stainless steel.

I am on my second one of these microwaves, after a couple years of use the plastic on the door cracks and the whole door falls apart. The cost of a replacement door is more than a new microwave. I’ve had to duct tape the door just so I could still use the microwave.
