There is no hold button...either off or on. The light from this over the stove mounted unit is not as bright as the unit I had before. The reheat feature is tedious. I'm stuck with it now.

Then after a couple years the outside of the door started to crack. Now there is a big chuck about to fall out underneath the door. Maybe because it is plastic. Over the oven microwaves are not so great, but if your going to do it, go for the stainless steel.

MOST ANNOYING tone when the microwave is through. No reminder bell/tone if you don’t immediately remove your food. Still not convinced of its heating capability. Microwave broke within first 2 months of having it. Whirlpool did have it repaired.
