    Whirlpool Microwave (beware of warranty!)

    I'm absolutely fed up with Whirlpool as a company, they do not stand behind their products. I purchased this microwave in 2022 and it barely lasted 2 years before the mag tube went bad. The unit is completely dead now and Whirlpool's response is to do nothing for me in return. A 1 year warranty is a joke and this product also had no limited warranty. I spent roughly $350 on this product to not get 2 years worth of service. The customer service was also rude and condescending when discussing the issue. I wouldn't recommend this product or any other Whirlpool product at this point.

    Blower motor fan NEVER worked

    Bought in March, finally got hooked up in May. The fan NEVER worked in it. Had a repair guy come up tonight sent BY whirlpool and he has to replace entire motor. You'd think it would have been checked out before it left the assembly line? Very disappointed. Have to take Microwave off to have this fixed so more hassle and headache. My 15 year old microwave works better than this. Hopefully this will solve the issue and I can move on. To say I am disappointed is a very big understatement.

    Door cracks

    I am on my second one of these microwaves, after a couple years of use the plastic on the door cracks and the whole door falls apart. The cost of a replacement door is more than a new microwave. I’ve had to duct tape the door just so I could still use the microwave.

    Started out ok for months but did not make it to 1 year of use. It does not light up inside, run at all and even the panel is dead. Tried replacing the fuse and no luck. So you need to take it down from the cabinet and send it in for repair at a Whirlpool authorized agent for warranty to cover the issues. May as well start over!

    I bought this microwave in 2018, in the 6 years I owned it, it broke down twice. Now it takes forever to heat up. I am tired of fixing it and I am currently shopping for a new one in 2024.

    Magnetron failed twice in the first year!

    Today, we had our Whirlpool microwave fixed for the second time since purchasing it less than a year ago. The magnetron has failed twice in 12 months! At the time of purchase, the microwave cost about $250. Although I understand that this is not a high-end unit, the reviews were positive, and we felt that we could trust the Whirlpool brand. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect an appliance to last more than seven months without breaking and especially anticipated it lasting more than 12 months before going down a second time. I'm glad the one-year manufacture's warranty covered these two repairs (which would have cost us $320 each time - parts and labor). Now that the warranty is over, are we in for another costly repair in 6-12 months? Save yourself the hassle and pass on this microwave!

    So far so good but the lighting is very basic and not as good as our last unit. And would it be so hard to light the keypad?

    Lasted a little over 12 months. Noisy Noisy Noisy, Broken. Door won't trip the door switch so the LCD constantly says close door. We had our Microwave growing up for over 25 years! Like all Whirlpool Products, STAY AWAY! We bought a Whirlpool Microwave, Dishwasher and Stove for our Kitchen at the Same time. The Stove is fine but the dishwasher and this Microwave lasted just a little over 12 months before they broke. I will never buy another Whirlpool product. Whirlpool will chime in here trying to look good saying to contact them but we all know it's a different story once you call! LOL

    Last me only tree weeks

    Not sure how many stars to give this unit. I own a unit almost Identical like this one for 11 years with no issues. Until one day decide not to heat up any more. It power on but no heating up.I figure what do I have to loose. 11 years works for me. So I purchase this model same brand. Well this one only last me 3 weeks and stopped heating up. Luckily it was under the 30 days. Ao they replaced at no cost. I'm a believer of a bad unit. Perhaps this one was one of them. Let's see what happens with this one.

    Extended warranty, not worth it.

    The microwave lasted a little bit less than 5 years. I'm waiting on To fix it or replace it. it would probably cost less than $200. To fix it You're probably better off buying a new one.

    Seems we got a lemon...

    We purchased this Top-CR-Rated microwave about 1.5 years ago and it was flawless - for about a month. Then it stopped cooking food, no microwaves just the light, timer and fan. Had it repaired and the entire control panel was replaced. It worked 2 weeks, rinse repeat. After the 3rd failure two weeks later in only 3 months, we gave up. We may have gotten a "lemon" but I would not buy this brand again.
