Did extensive reading on reviews/repairs on several different brands. We settled on this one due to both pricing and reviews. Priorities were pricing, quality and it does what it was designed to do...clean. We have had this new one for a week. 1. Installation was a piece of cake, even for a gal. 2. Reasonably priced - as we've learned that with dishwashers price is not indicative of quality. 3. Reviewed rather well compared to other brands and models. 4. Very quiet - This was not a selling point for us. We did, however, add the insulation from the old one on top of the new one and secured it....'stealth mode'. 5. Dishes come out very clean but we are 'prewashers'. As a chef, I know that even commercial dishwashers use a prewashing before they go into the dishwasher. 6. Dries thoroughly - we use the rinse aid as recommended. Dishes, even the plastic ones and top rack items are completely dry (every time). 7. It has several features but we are not a bells and whistles people so we just use the regular settings. 8. We cook most of our meals at home from scratch. The machine is large enough that it will accommodate all the dishes we use for the entire day in one load. We like the silverware basket on the door and that there is no tower in the center that takes up so much space like our old one did. Hoping we get 18 years out this new 'maid'.

Not hot drying

Broke in under a year

Posted .Michael, thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear of your concern. Please make sure that you are using a Rinse Aid with your unit. Your dishwasher is designed to use rinse aid for good drying performance. Without rinse aid, your dishes and dishwasher interior will have excessive moisture. The Heat Dry option will not perform as well without rinse aid. For most water conditions, the factory setting will give good results. However, if you are experiencing poor drying performance, you may want to try a higher setting. Turn the arrow adjuster inside the dispenser to change rinse aid setting. This will assist with the issue you are having. Thank you, Whirlpool Social Care
Doesn’t dry dishes!

But leaves residue on my dishes and does not dry at all. My last dishwasher was fantastic it dried out dishes completely. This whirlpool dishwasher does dry and leaves spots all over my dishes. I’m very disappointed.

We run it 2-3 times and end up hand washing. The top rack drawer broke quickly and now the soap dispenser won't open. Worthless waste of time and money. I've never been this unhappy with a purchase.
