Had to return it because one of the doors was defective. Bought another one had it for 3 years and all of the gaskets around the doors are either split, broken or twisted. Thankfully I bought the 3 year protection plan. Called Geek Squad they sent ASAP Appliance to come out to repair the gaskets 3 times, had to keep calling them just to order the parts, its still not fixed.

    Great refrig EXCEPT

Very nice refrig except you better be a Neil Diamond fan . After two months of quiet and no problems, the refrigerator crackles constantly and its loud. I called Whirlpool and the customer rep said its normal ???? They suggested I call a repairman -the unit is only 5 months old. DO NOT BUY I now refer to the refrig as Crackling Rosie . DO NOT BUY .I thought Whirlpool would send someone out to look at it but they didn't offer to do that. The noise level is ridiculous.

Good quality fridge. This is my 3rd whirlpool fridge. I had to match the new whirlpool microwave that came with the house. Next is the dishwasher and oven.

So far so good. After years of ice dispenser issues with a Samsung, it's great to have NO ICE from the door! The overall performance has been excellent here at the beginning.

    Terrible Quality

I am only taking the time to write this review to warn others. We've had this Whirlpool fridge for a little over a year and it has been nothing but problems from the start. The water dispenser has continually had problems with slow flow, but that's far from the only problem. We've had to call in on the warranty three times due to the ice dispenser failing to work. They've replaced the valve once and the entire ice dispenser assembly now twice. On top of that, the freezer will very often not close despite double and triple checking it and we will get a ton of condensate inside that will freeze up the unit. This last time, the ice dispenser screws actually came out and the whole unit ripped out with the drawer. I had to take the whole thing apart and redrill holes to be able to reinstall the ice dispenser again. Then, I had to reinstall everything again. In addition, the crisper does not control humidity on any level. Also, items fall off the back of the shelves because there is a huge gap. For almost $2K, this refrigerator is incredibly disappointing and the quality is terrible. Don't waste your money. Get an LG.

Control panel will fail after a year

This Whirlpool model has a known control panel fault, and the refrigerator will stop cooling unexpectedly. I learned the hard way. When the technician came to repair my one-year-old unit he said he sees this in these refrigerators. The electronic control panel will fail after a year of use.

Premature failure and repairs cause for concern

Bought this unit, and once out of warranty, needed to replace the control board and temperature sensor at the cost of about 1/3 of a new refrigerator. Unit worked ok prior to breaking and needing repairs, with a few exceptions. Main operating flaws to date have been water leaking on floor due to poor condensation drain design, design of interior temperature control location and water filter negatively impacting storage space/efficiency, and controls not being in degrees (non-specific 1-7 temperature settings are not user friendly. Needing unreasonable repairs early-mid life span failure of components is main concern.

    DO NOT BUY THIS

I was so excited to get this refrigerator! It’s beautiful but I’ve had nothing but problems since the beginning. I bought this refrigerator to replace my old side by side that was 11 years old. The first problem began before it was even a week old! The temperature is not regulated AT ALL! I have bottled water that will freeze in the back while the bottles in the front are barely cold—- on 7 the coldest setting! My freezer was freezing over to the point where my light was iced shut & would not come on. Whirlpool sent a technician out and it was a problem with the seal. The freezer has no room! I basically have to use my Tetris skills to figure out how to store food in there. Same with the fridge. You would think it would hold a lot but the way the shelves are situated, nothing fits. I wish I could go back AND NOT BUY THIS REFRIGERATOR.

    A Repair Nughtmare

DO NOT BUY THIS REFRIGERATOR The Whirlpool and KitchenAid french door refrigerators have a known problem that causes the compressor and coils to freeze over. You will have a repairman out every four months to defrost the cooling system with a heat gun, which does not solve the problem. The issue is that the sensor is too close to the cold air vent so it cannot tell when the compressor snd coils are freezing over until it is too late. And unlike nearly every other refrigerator on the planet, it does not have a heating element to remove the ice once it detects that it has frozen. It just turns off the cooling system—but not long enough for the ice to actually melt. And then it starts the cycle over. So your food just rotates between between freezing and spoiling until someone manually defrosts it. And worst, Whirlpool refuses to fix the problem. They just send someone out to defrost your system until your warranty expires and then walk away. There is even a class action lawsuit about this issue. So buy anything else.

Fridge worked great for the first year and half. Woke up to the fridge not running yesterday morning, Tried all the resets with no luck. Called a repair company out since the warranty was expired and found out the control board died. New control board $470.00. I have always had great luck with whirlpool until now.
