Why too LOUD, we can’t stand how loud this refrigerator is and we may by forced to sell it at a big lose. Love the fridge but hate the noise!

The fridge was not installed in my kitchen. I was told that a 4 men team is required to do so. At this point I am very frustated being without a fridge/freezer in my kitchen since Thanksgiving 2020

couldn't get the doors to align with one another. Door squeeked horribly. We returned.

Our backup fridge recently went out on us. It was a Whirlpool that we had for around 10 years. Our main fridge was a French door style GE. The GE has already needed the main computer replaced within 5 yrs and it tends to freeze produce in the fridge. I would also not get another French door style fridge. They look nice, but the side-by-side is more functional. I was a little concerned about picking this fridge when I was looking at the customer reviews. There were lots of reviews talking about damaged fridges at delivery. However, I saw many of the same issues in reviews for LG and Samsung. Fortunately, my fridge was delivered in great condition. I did find that the air filter was missing. Whirlpool sent the filter to me when requested. I am definitely happy with my selection. The space in the fridge and freezer is great. That was my main reason for selecting it. The shelves are well spaced though the position is not adjustable. The door shelves are adjustable and hold an incredible amount of stuff. The door shelves are adjustable. I like the ice maker being located in the door. It gives the freezer another 1/3 of extra space. The ice machine is not very fast. But, we don’t use that much ice so it is fine for us. I would also note that the unit periodically makes a lot of noise when it refills water for ice machine (more than you would expect). All in all, I recommend this fridge.

I have purchased 4 refrigerators over the last 20 years and I may have finally found the best one for the money. I purchased a Frigidaire in 1999 (side by side), a Samsung - 4000$ in 2012 (side by side with bottom freezer and middle drawer), another Frigidaire last year at Christmas and finally this one in Jan 2019. The Frigidaire's water line leaked all over my hardwood floors and the doors popped every time you opened them. The Samsung ice maker went bad within 15 months of having it and didn't make ice fast enough for one person to use. This one is quiet (a little noisy when the ice maker is filling up) but you never run out of ice and the doors are so smooth. It also has a ton of room! 5 stars

Bought this fridge in stainless finish for the huge volume of this fridge and a great deal for Black Friday. We upgraded from a top freezer 20.6 cu ft so this was a big upgrade on space and it delivers. Tons of room for our family of 4. 5 stars for room. Unfortunately, as soon as it was up and running it was noticeably MUCH louder than our 15 year old fridge. When the compressor is running, it is VERY noticeable. I’ve never heard a fridge this loud. Also, when the ice water refills the ice tray, OMG, why does the fill valve have to hum so loudly? Is there a pump running, too? A simple on/off valve should not be this loud. When the ice dumps is not very loud though. VERY disappointed in this fridge due to noise. Had we known it was this loud, would not have purchased. Unfortunately can’t test for noise in a noisy store showroom. There are reviews about this fridge being noisy but I thought they were exaggerating. They are not. 0 stars for noise. Fridge came with water filter installed but there was no FreshFlow filter included inside the fridge with the other accessories. Had to buy a generic brand online. Luckily they are inexpensive. Maybe it wasn’t inside the fridge and got detrashed with packaging? Would not think something so small wouldn’t be inside the fridge though. Controls are easy to use. The measured dispenser is a nice feature. No issues using ice and water dispenser. Well, none besides the loud water valve. Wish the display showed the interior temps. I put Bluetooth temp monitors inside the fridge and freezer. The set points are the recommended 37 F and 0 F. It keeps the fridge between 29 F and 40 F. The freezer between -8 F and 0 F. The fridge was well packaged for shipping. Took a while to remove all the shipping tape and protective styrofoam. Really like the bright white interior lighting of both fridge and freezer. Adjusting the gap between the doors was easy using the included spacer but I had to use my own hex key wrench. Adjusting the front leveling feet was easy on fridge side but had to use my own wrench. The freezer side foot was really tough to adjust because of the water line and cables right in the way. The included wrench was only for the door heights but I did not have to adjust those. There were several scuffs on the inside walls for some reason. Not a big deal but would expect better workmanship quality from Whirlpool. I had to go around the fridge and freezer and break off dozens of small balls of the insulation foam that had oozed out the small vent holes under the shelf supports. Not something you must do but I didn’t like seeing them. One of the fridge side, clear door bins had a large crack in the back wall. Will see about getting that replaced under warranty. Will see how this noisy fridge works for us over next couple months. May need to sell it and change to a quieter brand

This replaced a Samsung french door model. This one is far superior in both form and function. It has a quality build with great storage and capacity. I much prefer the side by side, particularly how much easier it is to find things in the freezer. Both sides have plenty of lights to easily see what is stored, making for less waste. The finish on the doors is elegant and cleans up nicely. Our former stainless steel model looked terrible within a few months, even with frequent cleaning. I feel great buying American made, particularly with this quality.
