We’ve had this fridge for only three years and it stopped cooling. The repair tech said that many of the side by side Whirlpool models he has worked on have what he called a design flaw that exposes the wires at the bottom of the freezer door to being cut by the dust cover on the bottom front of the fridge when the door is opened and closed. This cost me $320 in repairs and $100 in lost food, for a three year old appliance. Your experience may differ, but I wanted to share mine.

It has a lot of interior space. The see through compartments reduce time door is open. Has an alarm if door is opened too long. Can control temperature from exterior panel.

This refrigerator is very noisy, which is particularly disturbing. How can Whirlpool disregard the customers by equipping this product with such a low-end compressor? This product is not worth the price.

We got this refrigerator in November and we now need a service call since food on one shelf of the refrigerator section is now freezing. No vents are blocked, so it is clearly a mechanical issue. We had to spend a half hour on the phone with Whirlpool to arrange a simple service call. They had the nerve to tell us if a "functional problem" could not be detected (meaning if the repair person could not fix it), we could be charged well over $100 for the service call. Good luck in getting us to pay. I pass along this review to warn all potential buyers of this particular refrigerator or Whirlpool products in general.

So far so good. Love that my ice doesn't fall on the floor like my old one. Tall cups fit great.

Purchased this refrigerator in February 2020.  Worked well for 14 months.  Just out of warrantee, motor on ice dispenser broke.  We decided not to fix it due to cost.  Just over 3 years, ice maker broke.  After research, we have found that the wires for both these items have been worn through due to running up the hinge on the left side of the freezer door of the refrigerator.  They get pinched when the door opens and over time will deteriorate and finally will be cut.  All of the control panel wires run through here, so other systems are also at risk.  This will happen to ALL refrigerators after enough use, it just depends on how many times you have opened the freezer door.  Fortunately my husband is an electrical engineer and can hopefully splice/fix the wiring.   At 3 years without an extended warrantee, Whirlpool would not fix our refrigerator.  This failure is entirely their fault, and is without excuse.  They should at minimum be providing a free wire repair or a free door replacement to anyone with this issue, with or without a "warrantee."  A lesser complaint:  cheap plastic was used on the door bins so they started cracking a year into purchase under normal use.  I have never experienced this with any refrigerator in my life.  Again, faulty product.  We will think twice about purchasing Whirlpool in the future and recommend others to do the same.   They do not stand by their poorly-engineered products.

great product and service, best buy is the go to every time

We purchased this model in December 2017. We were happy with it for two years, despite it being extremely loud when dispensing ice, and the water isn't cold when it is dispensed. In December 2019, the ice maker quit working. We have a protection plan, so they sent service the first week of January. They replaced the ice maker, and a few days later it made about a dozen cubes of ice, then stopped working. We called back in and got another service call the next week. They immediately found the problem: several of the wires that go from the bottom of the freezer into the door were broken. The only option is to get a new door, which takes 6 to 8 weeks. After doing some research, we learned this is a design flaw with this model, so even if we get a new door, most likely this will happen again. My advice is to purchase another model, or at the very least get the protection plan, because the price of the door alone is about as much as a the whole refrigerator. We called for an update on the progress of our new door, and they can't even tell us when it is expected.

Never will I buy a whirlpool again. Purchased three weeks ago and This refrigerator is very noisy, always stays running. Disappointed to find out after we purchased it that the compressor is only covered for one year when others are covered for ten years. If I could I would like to return it and purchase a different brand.

This is a decent refrigerator it would have got the five stars but I am a big fan of ice and this refrigerator does not make ice fast enough for a family of 4

Really nice i like it i looks good and i love it …

This Whirlpool side by side would be perfect if it didn't make so much noise. We have an open floor plan and it's very annoying. We've had it since summer and I thought I might get used to it, but now it's Feb. and I still hate the noise!!! I don't mind the ice maker noise, but I do mind the constant running of motor. The Whirlpool we had for 20 years before this did not make so much noise. I don't recommend this Whirlpool if noisy appliances would bother you!

Love the black stainless steel. Goes well with the the kitchen. Slightly noisy when water is feeling the ice maker.

Very spacious fridge with a very modern look and features.

We liked the refrigerator when we got it, then a year later, the icemaker went out and found out the door had some broken wires at the bottom of freezer door. When they came out to fix it, they said they had to order a new door. They made me wait until this month until they decided that will allow me to get a new refrigerator to replace this one. They should have replaced the refrigerator after 30 days. Very poor design and much frustration. I would not recommend this refrigerator.
