Well Money Spent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my new fridge it has lots of room and it works great. I don't have to worry about my kids leaving the door open because it has a automatic vacuum which makes sure the doors stay closed when you shut them. Ice maker which you can have cubes or crushed. Whoever buys this fridge will fall in love with it. Everything works perfectly, great product. Water line that I bought with it is awesome as well I recommend getting it. The ppl who installed was awesome they were caution bring it in nt to cause any damage. They get 10 stars in my book.

Great Refrigerator
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace a 4 month old Frigidaire that quit cooling. Much nicer quality. The drawers slide smoothly. Ice maker in the door provides plenty of ice while leaving more space to store frozen food. The light on the front where the ice and water is dispensed has several brightness options , measures the water as you fill your glass. Plenty of drawer space in the refrigerator and freezer sections. Very bright lighting in both areas. I am sorry my new Frigidaire quit working but have been so much happier with the whirlpool replacement.

Beautiful
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The black stainless-steel color is beautiful. It does not show any fingerprints. I like that you can fit a water mug under the ice and water dispenser. It is pretty cool that it displays how much water is dispersed. Everything works great! The ice is a little loud as it is falling into the ice dispenser to refill the ice, but I would definitely recommend this refrigerator.

Whirlpool - 28.4 Cu. Ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This refrigerator has a large capacity which is nice. It is a little noisy when running sometimes but not to the point that it's too loud. The ice bin is in the freezer door which leaves a lot of room for storing items in the freezer. It is a nice looking unit.

Excellent refrigerator
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had purchased a similar Whirlpool model a year ago and loved it so when we moved to our new home I knew I wanted the same refrigerator. Because Whirpool was coming out with the new models I had waited over a month for delivery and it was still backordered. The appliance manager in St Cloud,Mn Best Buy told me about the newer model which is a bit larger but basically the same refrigerator and was on sale for less than the older model so I had him switch the order to this one and I couldn't be happier. It is roomy, very adjustable for our personal needs and even has a smudge resistant stainless steel surface. I am very pleased with the refrigerator and appreciative of the manager who went above and beyond to see that I was taken are of.

One disappointment.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Functions as a refrigerator should but whenever the water for ice cube maker needs to be refilled it is really noisy. I wish that noise could be eliminated and i would award it 5 stars.

Great frig
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this refrigerator and had it for about a week. I was worried about the reviews saying it's very loud. Nope. It's very quiet. The ice maker makes noise when the ice drops, like all refrigerators. A few things I like about this frig are the selves. They ride on wall supports inside the frig and not the bracket type that hooks in the back. These selves are much more sturdy than the other type of selves you see in a lot of refrigerators. The water filter is in the frig above the upper shelf. Our old frig had the filter outside on the lower part of the frig making me get down on the floor to change it out. The door shelves can hold a gallon of milk, but we prefer to put the milk in the back of the frig to keep it colder. It took about 5 hours for the frig to get cold enough to put in our food. The first batch of ice was produce before that. The biggest complaint I have is not with the frig itself. It's with the delivery people. They pulled off the plastic covering and left a bunch of pieces attached. They never pulled off the tape and plastic coverings inside the frig. Not a big deal, but it would have been better for them to do it since I had to leave the doors open to do this. One other thing. The manual said the frig was suppose to have an air filter included. Nope. Didn't get one, so my guess is the delivery guys left with it. Oh well.

Great refrigerator!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was more than I expected! The lighting inside shows the shelves and vegetable bin, and the spacing is fantastic! The door panel locks so my grandchildren don't bother it. The panel also tells u how many ounces u r drinking and the amount can be saved for your next drink. The ice maker is a little loud, but it's on the door which leaves plenty of space for the food. Also, the filter is at the top of the fridge instead of near the floor. I am more than satisfied!!

Great refrigerator but noisy!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very big refrigerator the only reasons I’m giving it 4 star is because it is a noisy refrigerator the ice dispenser is loud it will wake up other at night and the motor is loud.

Great big refrigerator, lots of capacity!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's working very well once the first kinks at the beginning disappeared, it was freezing things in the refrigerator side, even at warmer settings. We wish it had a butter compartment like all other refrigerators, this one doesn't and we miss that space on the door. It looks very elegant, the design is very modern. the main thing is: IT HAS A LOT OF CAPACITY! We love that.

Great appliance, experience marred by poor support
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like my new Whirlpool refrigerator. It is spacious, well laid out, brightly lit with efficient LED bulbs inside, and in particular I like the in-door ice maker which unlike more traditional units doesn't take up the equivalent of a full shelf in the freezer, although it is quite noisy when dispensing ice. The machine runs quietly, and quickly cooled down to appropriate temperatures on both the refrigerator and freezer sides. I am optimistic that I will get several years of trouble-free service from this appliance, which replaces a Kenmore side-by-side that served me well for almost 20 years. I have just one complaint about the refrigerator itself, which could be the fault of the manufacturer or of the Best Buy distributor, and I have no way of telling which: In all of the marketing photos including customer-provided images, this model has FIVE shelf bins in the door on the refrigerator side. Mine arrived with only THREE. When I asked the otherwise excellent delivery driver about that, he became silent and would not give me an answer. That's OK, it's probably not his fault or his responsibility. (The delivery was punctual with good communication, and I am happy with that contractor's service.) I would have given the refrigerator itself FIVE stars, but I am deducting ONE for the two missing shelf bins. ------------------- Now for the serious problem I experienced, for which I am deducting TWO stars, and this is entirely the fault of Best Buy's management and customer service infrastructure: I first contacted Best Buy customer support via Internet chat to discuss the missing shelf bins. A person who I will call #1 picked up the chat promptly, but told me that my only recourse was to RETURN THE ENTIRE REFRIGERATOR for an exchange! I asked #1 to escalate the chat to a supervisor. That person, #2, told me the same thing. I asked #2 by chat whether someone at the local store, about three miles from my house, could simply take two shelf bins from a floor display or otherwise unsold refrigerator and drive them to my home. #2 said that was "impossible", and suggested that I drive to the store with a copy of my receipt and ask to see a manager. I asked if #2 could order two compatible bins from Amazon, have them shipped to me, and charge the company for the expense. #2 said that was out of the question. My next step was to get on the phone with Best Buy customer support. After going through a tedious menu, I got to support person #3, who immediately hung up on me when I asked to have his or her first name repeated. Maybe that was a glitch, but it was annoying. I went through the phone menu a second time, and spoke with person #4, who told me that my only recourse was to either take the 283-pound refrigerator to any Best Buy store myself for an exchange, or the company would provide a UPS return label! United Parcel Service won't handle anything over 150 pounds, so both suggestions were absurd. In addition to that, I was still grappling with the loss of hundreds of dollars worth of food from my failed Kenmore refrigerator, so the idea of exchanging a new Whirlpool that seemed to be working just fine other than two missing plastic shelves seemed almost Kafkaesque. At my request, support person #4 transferred me to #5, who was supposedly a manager, and was also unable to offer a reasonable solution. I got the impression that most of the support team, who are or were affiliated with Geek Squad, were accustomed to dealing with small electronic devices and not major household appliances. I called a different support number that #5 gave me, and got through to #6, who agreed that I needed to be made whole without having to return the refrigerator. #6 set up an appointment with a repair technician, but when I looked at the details in a text message I could see that there were multiple problems with the appointment including my physical address. Once again I called the support number provided by #5 and went through the same tedious voice menu. Finally #7 answered, and acknowledged that #6 had messed up my repair appointment, which incidentally provided that someone would call me between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM the following day to arrange something with me. #7 not only corrected the appointment information, but also gave me the first name and phone number of the repair technician. Finally, a glimmer of hope! Someone who actually seemed to care about a customer's troubles. The next morning I sent a text to the repair technician, explaining that an in-person visit was not needed and that I only needed to have two plastic shelf bins sent to me somehow. The technician responded promptly and politely, asking for a photo of the service tag for the refrigerator. The technician ordered the parts and asked me to text him back when they arrived. Problem solved! But I had to spend more than three hours on a chat session, phone calls, and texting to get it fixed. The shelf bins were shipped via UPS to my home in San Diego, California from some place in Illinois. They arrived late in the afternoon today, November 2, to fulfill a complaint that I had initiated on October 27. ------------------- So, here's a question for Best Buy management: Why couldn't someone in the Mission Valley, San Diego store simply drive to my home three miles from their store with a couple of plastic shelf bins and avoid all of the hassle, stress, and wasted time? I respectfully request a serious reply to my question. Your customer service team seems to be poorly trained, lacking in product knowledge, and lacking in genuine care for your customers. In addition to my new Whirlpool refrigerator, I recently purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer from your company. That transaction went very smoothly, and I plan to buy at least one more major household appliance from you in the near future. Can you assure me that I won't encounter the kind of support issues I had with my new refrigerator again?

nice for all things
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.so nice to receive this beautiful refrigerator for our renter home. Many people use it to store items for a full week with a number of families using it. We also appreciate the ice maker and water because our previous one broke down and the renters were not happy. We will look for other appliances to match as we go in the near future. Thanks Jimbo

Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would give a 5 if there wasn't glue and red sharpie marker all over the outside straight out of the box. It is big, sleek, roomie. I have so much storage and the way it came preset up was so perfect I didnt need to adjust anything. Even the freezer is a great size. It's also easy to clean.

Whirlpool refrigerator
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This refrigerator had top ratings for a side by side, including Good Housekeeping. The back of the refrigerator width measures at 35 1/2 inches, which is perfect for the 36 1/4 in. opening between the cabinets and wall. My old fridge was 35 7/8 in., was a tight fit and hard to move back and forth. This one moves with ease, as you do need to clean dust behind them periodically. The height fits perfectly below my upper cabinet, as it has a low hinge profile. Most other fridges have a higher and deeper hinge that would have made the fridge stick out too far. The fridge and freezer keep food much colder than the old fridge, even when it was new. The ice maker had a much faster output than the old one, and faster than some reviews on this and other sites. The only negative is that the ounce measuring feature does not match up with a measuring cup at all.

NICE APPLIANCE - BUILT TO LAST, BEAUTIFUL EXTERIOR
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My new side-by-side unit was purchased and installed in September of 2019, and has operated perfectly with no major issues. I ordered the model with black stainless steel exterior; and it is fabulous - the best finish I have ever seen in a major appliance. The sculpted stainless steel handles are a "work of art" - as is the ice & water control center. Yes, this refrigerator is spacious inside. But, I find myself longing for the same "erector-set-style" fully adjustable shelving with integral ribbed steel reinforced glass pane surfaces that my previous General Electric side-by-side refrigerator had. And yes, the current style shelving of this Whirlpool unit is "functional." But, the interior "extruded-cavity-molded" plastic "support nubs" and the "unsupported" glass pane shelves have the look and feel of "cost-cutting cheapness." Sadly, General Electric, Whirlpool, and most every major "side-by-side" fridge manufacturer of today only offer the same "cost-cutting" and rather flimsy "unsupported glass window pane shelving." The compressor of my new Whirlpool unit runs quietly, using variable speed control, and features a robust 20 amp. motor. The automatic defrost control uses software driven "adaptive logic," and cycles "on" and "off" based on multiple data inputs from strategically located sensors. In my opinion, Whirlpool makes the best quality fridges currently available for residential usage. Although not "perfect" in every respect, this unit is certainly "FIVE-STAR" material. I recommend it without reservation. And if you opt for an extended warranty, AVOID the "Geek Squad" offerings and instead buy from Whirlpool directly.

so far a great purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've only had the refrigerator for a month now but so far it has been an excellent choice. Love the size, we already had a large side by side but the extra couple cubic feet really make a difference. A lot of people say they hate side by sides, can't get the doors open far enough, no room, etc. - that is not the case here, we have had no issues opening or getting to things inside, plenty of room. It is very quiet. The seal is great, the temperature held even during the hottest days. The ice maker itself (not the storage area) is completely out of the way, freeing up storage space that is usually hogged by that contraption. The door panel is very intuitive. The Geek Squad delivered (during covid restrictions) and set up and they did an amazing job.

New Fridge
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the new fridge, especially the ice maker location and so munch shelf room. However, it is not even a month old and we already have a message to replace the water filter which is over $50 at Best Buy. I hope they surely last longer than that in the future or this fridge may be going too..
