Unresponsive touch screen

Owned for 1 year when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this unit last year as a replacement to a 10-year old Whirlpool oven. A little over a year later the touch screen stops responding to some selections such as the timer when baking. I made sure it wasn't on locked screen, Cycled the breaker a few times, But the problem keeps on happening. Looked for service guides on-line and was able to get to the diagnostic page after a few power resets. It keeps giving an error F6E0. From whirlpool's troubleshooting guide, it means communication or component problem on the interface unit. Called 1-800 number, but the unit was deemed out of warranty. Service cost alone is $125 for the contract service to show up plus about $600 for the parts. Been a big fan of Whirlpool, but this $1,900 is not very reliable.

Cookie less at Christmas.
