Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the 4.3 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Top Load Washer's cleaning performance and large capacity, finding it easy to use and a good value for the price. However, some customers noted that the washer can be noisy and that the lack of an agitator, less-than-ideal spin cycle, and absence of a fabric softener dispenser were drawbacks. A small number of users also reported reliability issues.

    Terrible Washer!!!! Do no purchase!

DO NOT purchase this washer. Please learn from my mistake. This is the worst washer I have ever owned. We have owned this washer for 5 months, and we have had nothing but issues. I wish I would have returned it in the first 30 days, but I stupidly decided to give it a chance. We purchased at the end of January, and in March we already had to replace a faulty part. Now we are in June, and the shifter is broken. The repair tech said it’s a defect on every single one of these washer, so the part is backordered. I have called Whirlpool directly, and they are no help at all. They say “well you have only had 2 repairs on it”. Excuse me? I owned my last whirlpool washer for 10 years with no issues at all. 2 repairs is a lot for owning it only 5 months. I am so frustrated and disappointed in whirlpool. I purchased it because it was the only brand my grandmother ever trusted. Unfortunately, they are no longer to be trusted. They are selling faulty appliances and not owning up to it.

I am thrilled with my new washer. The clothes are clean, I can wash queen sized blankets in it. After several weeks using the machine I would not go back to a computer controled machine again. It is a little loud but it is sturdy and works great.

Nice entry level machine. Best buy process and delivery, set up went well. Actually returned this to upgrade and increase the capacity and a few other features we decided on.

This product is excellent only problem I have been experiencing is on the Heavy Load, it seems to stop performing at the spin cycle and not continuing to the end until I open the lid and it start again.

Great product! It seems to use only the amount of water needed to get the job done. It appears to have a high spin cycle rate. Which reduces dryer time. I was a little apprehensive, as this model does not have an agitator. It does a great job. Very satisfied with this product!

I purchased this washer to replace the same model washer that broke after 5 1/2 years of use. The last Whirlpool washer we had before this model lasted over 11 years. You may ask why I chose this same machine again? I chose it to match the dryer that is still working fine and I removed all the parts from the old one so if this one breaks maybe one of the spare parts will fix it. The old machine blew the transmission. I hope if something goes it will not be the transmission.

I use this washer in one of my group homes, so it gets constant heavy use. It has held up to constant use very well and is great at getting very solid clothes very clean. One complaint I got in the beginning was that the dashboard was a little complicated, but everyone’s learned to use it now. Would recommend.

So far so good, with our REPLACEMENT. The one we originally got delivered DID not work. But best buy made it good by replacing it for free. Of course it sucked to wait almost another week for it, but once we received it it's been great for the price we paid. You can wash a TON of stuff at once since it has no agitator.

Washer & Dryer with lots of features

Good set. Lots of features. Whirlpool is my favorite appliance brand but I am not thrilled with the new "high efficiency." Wish I could have my old Whirlpool set back. I am still learning how to best use the cycles for what I want to accomplish. Love not having an agitator in the middle of the washer and I love the washers large capacity. However, the washer is very slow to fill and "sense" load and water levels. It takes me longer to do a load of laundry now. Also, I thought this new set would be quieter than my 18 year old set... the dryer is more quite but the washer is not. I thought the price was fair and I would recommend this set but I am not as "thrilled" as I thought I would be with a brand new washer and dryer.

Great for its price. A lot more room in the loader and no need to set load size. Also saves a lot of water. I Wish it had a fabric softener dispenser...

I've only had this washer for a few weeks and I am so pleased with it. It's so much quieter than my last one and so easy to use. Less gadgets the better. It's the first machine for me without the agitator. Clothes have come out clean and less wrinkles. I would recommend this washing machine.

Minimal electronics and whirlpool reputation was a selling point for us for older parents. They love it. They wish it was easier to add more water to the load but overall happy with the performance.

Got this on sale. Cleans as advertised, and uses less water than my previous washer. Only downside is that there are way too many options to choose from, and it gets confusing to know which setting to use.

So far I like this machine, only had it 2 months. I have to wash some REALLY DIRTY farm clothes which works well when I use the double rinse cycle. I can't believe how big it is. I could fit in this machine:)

Bought this basic washer to go along with our basic dryer.. Works well, cleans clothes GREAT but sometimes when you push the start button the machine stays in "sensor" mode until you press the button again. Not such a big deal to me because my last "fancy" washer didn't clean my clothes that great but every button worked easy.... It doesn't bother me to re-check to make sure it's on because at least I know that my clothes will be clean when it's done.
