    One BIG Problem For Me

The washer works very well. I only have one problem and it drives me crazy. The controls are on the front of the washer and even when you use the control lock if something accidentally brushes the off button - BOOM - washer off. Then you have to start the load from the beginning and it REALLY irritates me. I have to start one load and leave. I can't even fold the clothes from the dryer because something could brush the off button.

NO RINSE TEMP OPTIONS?! HOT RINSE ONLY.

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this washer 2-3 years ago. Aside from the fact that it's working same as when I got it, there isn't much I like about it. For starters, did everyone involved in designing and manufacturing this machine entirely overlook the fact that every wash cycle includes a rinse? Not only is there no option to choose the rinse temp– There is no mention of the rinse temp whatsoever in the owners' manual. You just gotta try each pre-set cycle to figure out that all of them rinse with hot water (except WHITES– I think– which washes in HOT) Even COLD and DELICATE cycles rinse in HOT. How stupid is that? So if you have anything that hot water will ruin, you better hand wash it. Pre-set cycles may be convenient for people who are ignorant about how to properly launder different materials. But they are no help whatsoever if the people who created the pre-set cycles are also ignorant. Next complaint: 2 HOUR CYCLES! SERIOUSLY? Over 2 hrs with an extra rinse. Not what I would call High Efficiency. What I would REALLY like to find is a new front load h.e. machine with a quick wash cycle that does more than get your clothes wet. And offers an ALL MANUAL option. Something I can manipulate like the dial on my old washer. Stop, start, move back or forward to shorten and lengthen wash/rinse at will. change the water temp and even switch from heavy duty to delicate at any time WITHOUT having to drain, spin, and start all over again from the beginning. If I had known I'd be stuck with the limitations of this machine's pre-set ONLY design, I would have never bought it.

Door Lock broke after 1 1/2 years

This is the second whirlpool duet we've owned. The first one broke after several moves and about 8 years. We purchased another in order to stack the dryer. The washer is quiet and I like the updates that it offered from our older model. We've owned this one about 1 1/2 years and for some reason the door lock won't lock. Obviously it won't work without a locked door. Bummer. We're a household of 4 and I really hate doing laundry, so have trained my kids to wear their clothes multiple times bf they throw them in to wash... so this thing has not been run into the ground. After speaking with whirlpool repair, it will cost anywhere from $400- 600 to fix, including the service fee. What?! seems like it might be worth getting a whole new washer.

    Great Front Load washer

I waited for a holiday sale before buying this washer. It's a great washer with just enough features and cycles. I didn't see the need to buy something with more cycles than I would ever use. This is my first front loading washer and I am not use to the noise, but aren't all washers noisy. Overall, I am happy with this purchase.

    Horrible Installation Experience--mediocre washer

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this washer because it had a good review from Consumer Reports. It is mediocre at best--not as gentle and does not get my clothes as clean as my previous washer. But the worst part has been the installation experience with Best Buy. The delivery crew installed the water hoses backwards. They tested the washer after installation but apparently did not realize their error. I came home from work and washed a load of delicate cold water wash after the washer was installed. When I went to hang up my delicate laundry, it was piping hot. My husband called Best Buy immediately, and they told him the damage would be covered by their insurance and gave him instructions for filing a claim. He filed the claim, and reversed the fill hoses on the washer. Unfortunately, Best Buy outsourced the delivery and installation to Spirit Delivery, and they have refused to take any responsibility for the damage they caused. My husband has been going back and forth with them for over a month. We have followed all instructions, sent them a list of the damaged items as well as photos as requested. Meanwhile, I have $600 worth of ruined sweaters, wool socks, and other items. This is the first and last appliance I will purchase from Best Buy. I am extremely disappointed that they refuse to take any responsibility for their error.

    So disappointed.

This washer had tons of positive reviews online, had a great price, seemed like a safe buy. Picked the first one up in the store took it home ran it through the first cycle and it died when the pump came on, finally got it to work, then when it did the drain pump was extremely loud. Took it back to Best Buy the next day exchanged it without any hassles. Got the 2nd one home and the freaking drain pump is so noisey on this one too. It's so quiet during regular operation but when it goes to drain that pump makes the same loud, vibrating, humming noise. Aside from the pump motor being junk it seems like a good washer, but the chances of it being a pump motor issue on two in a row, no way. I'm so disappointed this turned out this way, I cannot keep this loud clunker in my house, if it's loud right out of the box, I'll be ready to set it on the curb six months from now.

    Poor Design and Build Quality

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I regret purchasing this washer, the controls are confusing and not intuitive at all. It holds water unless you run the spin cycle after you are done using to make sure it drains completely. I have only been using this appliance for a couple of months and now it has started randomly completely powering off during a cycle, so you think the clothes are being washed, come down and they're not fully wet and the power is off. This thing was a total waste of money. I'm planning to replace it with a Speed Queen.

vibrates, loud, front door gasket catches clothes

Just had the machine delivered yesterday. Can't get through the first load of laundry because it vibrates and jumps around so much during the spin cycle that it stops itself. It's been on the 12 minute left timer mark for 20 mins. Now I have a bunch of clothes that are a little too wet for the dryer. Also, the front door gasket is so large that I had 3 items get stuck in there during the entire wash. Not sure if they would have come out during the spin cycle since I can't get that far. I could live with how loud it is if not for the other 2 problems listed above. Heading back to Best Buy!

    Dead after 2 yaers

I purchased this washer in January 2018 and now at November 2020 it is dead. I need a new control board. My repairperson is charging me $285 for the part and $95 for labor. The "quick wash" feature never worked - not once. What a huge bummer!
