    Washer Drum Problems after 2 months of light use

    Purchased in Sep 2022. After only 2 months of light use the washer drum violently bangs against the housing when on the spin cycle. Had Whirlpool tech come out and did testing and said it was fixed. Still no improvement after all the testing. Have requested a second service call. This is unacceptable.

    Once I figured out which settings I needed to use to get the water levels right & figured out the formula for using diff detergents, clothes finally started to come out smelling clean. & I love that it can handle my big double thick king size blankets. Not so nice is that after 2 months it started throwing a code at least 3x a week saying something about the suds reduction whatever... But if I set the soap dispenser at a lower level (recommended fix for that code), clothes didn't get clean & they smelled just like they did when I put them in. (Anyone who has kids knows that is NOT a good thing) We've had this washer for a year and 4 months & now when we press start, it likes to drain for a few seconds & say 'cycle complete' instead of washing. We have to turn off, turn on, press start again 2-6 times before it'll actually start. I recommend that you get whatever warranty is offered if you buy this, just in case. We didn't bother because we're 70+ miles outside of anyone's service area & the cost of a repair person would prob cost more than another machine. Kinda bummed tho, the last whirlpool we got cost under $400 & held up to 6 years of HARD use. Had this one lasted more than 6 mos without throwing a code... or 2 years without a prob that requires service, it would've gotten more stars. At this price point, I had expected better. The $400 whirlpool had zero problems until it's 6th year with us. Still a fan of whirlpool products... but when this one quits, I'm going back to the cheapest washer they've got.

    Very spacious, fits a ton of clothes, but it is ridiculously loud. Even if it’s a small load the amount of noise it makes is crazy

    We had a Samsung washer prior to purchasing this one and I have to say, I will never go back to any other brand but Whirlpool for home appliances. We've had this washer and dryer combo for 3 years and thankfully we've had no problems and we love the that we can fit a king size comforter in it.

    It was great for a while. I love the convenience of the detergent dispenser. But for some reason it ended up burning up at the plug. Then Best Buy wanted to repair it instead of replace it. I insisted that someone else come look at it, and then they said that it should be replaced, as it was a fire hazard. I then had to pay for a new warranty on the new washer instead of the other warranty carrying over.

    I am not a review person but if I could spare ONE person the aggravation that comes with buying this machine, than my time was worth it. Washer worked great for the first year. Less than 2 years in, we've had it serviced 3 times. Washer no longer drains. We called Whirpool, the washer is now out of warranty and there was nothing they could do. With a 6 month old baby at home, this is unacceptable and we've called it quits. Home Depot employees warned us about buying Samsung and LG but we have never had an issue with our Samsung Kitchen appliances. WILL NEVER BUY WHIRLPOOL! READ THE REVIEWS!!!! Do not be fooled by Whirlpool’s responses on all of these negative reviews! They do not care to rectify any issues. It’s all an act to make it look like they care. After reaching out via Facebook, they recommended I download their app to see if that resolves the issue with our washer. Yeah, sure, the fried wires magically reconnected once the app was downloaded.

    Not as great as the dryer

    I would love to say that I love the washer just as much as the dryer. But I've had to file two warranty claims now due to the agitator motor going out. If you get this one, make sure to get the extended warranty. I gave it 3 stars, because so far I haven't had to pay anything extra out of pocket due to the extended warranty (Thru whirlpool)

    I really love this washing machine, it’s the best one I’ve owned so far. I don’t have to be constantly checking if my load is done, I can just check on my phone. I’m so glad I bought it.

    Bought in June 2020. Had a few issues. Recently had the belt changed this week. Sounds like something else is about to go out on it as well. I don’t see it lasting us to the 3 year mark

    Absolute GARBAGE!!! We’ve only owned for 3 years and we’ve had constant issues. At first it wouldn’t run a cycle at all. Issue was repaired. Then, it wouldn’t spin. Issue repaired. Then, it would literally WALK…it would shake so violently that it would be several feet from the original spot. Replaced the springs. This resolved the issue for a few weeks. It has now started to shake violently again, chipping our quartz countertops. During the spin cycle, you can literally hear pieces falling off in the inside. For a $1000 washer, I expected more than 3 years of usage. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

    Worst purchase ever

    Very disappointed with this. Owned it for less than 4 weeks, starting making a loud grinding noise. Called Whirlpool they sent a repair guy who said it needs a new gear case. They have to order it - will take at least 10 days. This shouldn't happen to a brand new washer.

    Worst washer you can ever buy

    I purchased this washer 2.5 years ago. It broke just shy of 2 years. Geek squad came and “fixed” it and now I have ever more problems than before. It shakes insanely when its spinning out to the point that we have to stop it more than 10 times. Had a different applicane tech come out and he cannot even figure out what is wrong with it. Called Whirlpool and they refuse to even look at it. Only offered us 20% off a new unit. DO NOT BUY.

    Expensive Paperweight

    This is the most expensive paperweight that I have ever purchased. We bought it last summer, waited 3 months for it to come in due to "covid". It was installed in August. It broke for the first time in October and that is when we learned that even though we thought we purchased the best buy warrenty we had not. Whirlpool sent out a company to fix it. They came in November and did not get the part in until January. It worked for 36 days and broke again. We have been without a washer since. They sent out the same service company and even though they called to say they would be there between 12 and 4 they showed up at 10 and said they needed to be let in right away or they were leaving. We have called whirlpool weekly and they said there is nothing they can do to get it fixed faster, yet here we are spending a $100 a week at the laundry mat. I do not recommend whirlpool at ALL!

    This is the BIGGEST piece of crap washer you can buy. The plastic teeth broke in under 3 years from normal use and now need to replace it. On top of that, it won’t start a load when we go to start it and makes you try it 12-14 times per load before it takes. Makes washing clothes way more complicated and stressful. Literally buy anything else or wash your clothes by hands is a better alternative. Extremely disappointed. Expected way more from Whirlpool. Trust me, look elsewhere.

    Very Noisy

    The washer looks nice, but it is super picky about how you load things. It gets unbalanced very easily and it is very loud when it spins. We bought this machine in 2020 and are looking to replace it already.

    Don't buy whirlpool

    Don't buy this piece of junk. We bought this washer just over 2 years ago then it suddenly died in the middle of a load. Had appliance repair company come out and said it needed a new control board (for $550) and a new lid lock. Contacted whirlpool, but they won't do anything at all since just outside of 2 year warranty. When it worked it was a nice washer, but its not designed to last. Buy at your own risk.
