The reason I did not give them more stars: You cannot even brush lightly against the touch screen controls without re-setting or ending the wash/dry cycle. So, if you have kids or spouses putting stuff in the laundry basket or getting something off a shelf above the washer (if they are not stacked) or next to the washer you must warn everyone not to go anywhere near the machine because it is constantly being turned off or running an hour extra because someone barely brushed up against the control. The washer seems to be much more sensitive than the dryer. There is no option for a loudish "end of cycle" alert on either machine. I do like that the buttons are not excessively loud - both machines are quiet which is great. You cannot put just one item in the dryer for the steam setting, it gets stuck between the lint filter and the door and must be washed again to get the steamed in wrinkles out. They say four items in the dryer for the steam setting and you can only do four items. The doors on both are really large, especially if you don't have them on the pedestals, difficult to maneuver laundry baskets around unless you have a fairly large laundry room.

It’s a cheap copper piece on the main panel that burns out and essentially renders the dryer useless. Whirlpool has been out twice to replace it in the first year. Now that the warranty is up geek squad just charged us $80 to come out and they replaced it again just a couple weeks ago. Now guess what?! 2 weeks later and it’s dead again! Never again will I buy an appliance with a lot of tech in it. Give me the most basic model with a turn dial that is made! Less possible stuff to break. So frustrating!
