I guess that is how it is in today's throw away culture. Electronics and wiring are shot so it will cost me more to fix it than to get a new one. I guess I will find a used one. My mom had the same Whirlpool set for 3 years.

I have had to replace a heating element and a thermistor and the thing still doesn't work right. It takes at least two cycles to dry anything, the clothes are always wrinkled, in spite of the wrinkle shield setting. My suggestion is to look at another manufacturer. On the other hand, the washer works fine.
