What a big luxury! When I say big, I mean this thing is going to take up some space. When I got home and it was waiting outside my house, I was a bit nervous. The box was 3 feet high! I realized it wasn't as bad because there are accessories in with it, but it's still a big litter box. Also expensive... No assembly required was very nice. Just fill with litter to the line on the rubber liner, plug it in and your set. It's kinda neat to watch it slowly rotate and end up with a nice level surface again. It's not very loud either, I hardly ever hear it. My refrigerator ice maker is louder. The app is kinda nice to have but for me it was a pain to get going. At first it just looked like a mobile website telling about and selling the litter robots. Nowhere could I find a spot to add my robot to the app. I decided to log out, close it, and reopen the app. Log back in and then it was the actual app. Strange. Then Adding the robot was easy as it should have been. They include carbon filters to catch odors in the drawer. They do nothing. There is more development that needs to go into odor control. I still sprinkle litter refresher in the drawer. At this price point I'd like to see a display on the litter box instead of just buttons. Appliances that cost less have this feature. I can use the app to control this but when I'm right at the litter box, it should be easier than the buttons. Some you have to press combinations of for different options... It is nice to not have to scoop all the time and very helpful for people with bad backs and motor control issues. I'd say it should be more developed when they are on the 3rd and 4th generations.

The Whisper Litter Robot 3 (LR3) is a self cleaning litter box. The basic operation is that you fill an area with a certain amount of litter. After sensors tell the robot that your cat has finished doing their business, the robot gets to work rotating the drum in which things sit so that the still loose litter first runs through a screen into a containment area leaving the clumped debris to fall into a trap door to a bag lined area. The drum then reverses rotation restoring the unused litter back to the normal area. Things are designed such that while the free litter can move either way, the clumped stuff will never re-enter the working part of the robot. It does a couple cycles of this, then sends out a notification if configured. After my cat switched to using the litter robot, the smell from the litter box area pretty much cleared up and in the about five days since, you'd be hard pressed to tell this is still a litter box getting regular use despite the fact that I've yet to actually empty out the collected clumps. When the LR3 first arrives, the immediate thing you'll notice is the size. Its relatively tall and takes up a sizeable footprint. Likely larger than any normal litter box unless you have a couple placed close by for multiple cats. Honestly, for me, the LR3 would have been a non-starter in the apartment where I lived when I first got my cat because it just didnt have the space for something like this. Unboxing was relatively easy. Despite the size, it was actually pretty lightweight and moving it to the basement room with the cat's external entrance and litter box was quick. It has a relatively long power cable though I still needed an extension cord just due to the way that room is arranged and there only being one power outlet. I installed the app to complete setup which after creating an account, configures your wifi password on the LR3 the runs through a cleaning cycle where you'd get to see how it all works including getting an app notification that a cleaning cycle has completed. Then next is to turn off the LR3 because you'll then spend a couple days getting your cat (or cats) to transition to using the LR3. The instructions suggest putting a bit of their existing litter in the LR3 (normal when swapping boxes) then let them fill up the old box until they move on to the LR3 - I'm guessing out of disgust. Well, that didnt work. I suspect my cat just decided to do more of their business outside. After a few days, I did my normal. Remove the old litter box completely, locked the cat doors from going out, then picked them up and placed them in the LR3 when they first started indicating that they really wanted to get out. After that, the LR3 was in business and I've not had any accidents. Once your cat starts using the LR3, you can turn it back on. There's a configurable timeout for how long to delay starting the cleaning cycle after your cat gets out including an option not to use the sensors at all. Cleaning can be manually controlled via the app or by buttons on the front of the LR3. I really like this as core functionality being only accessible if youre able to log in on an app bothers me in products that hopefully last me for many years. And I'd rather not be able to easily clean things if my internet service goes out or Whisper has issues with their servers. The app, in addition to the cleaning cycle notifications also gives you an estimate of how full the collecting tray is. For my cat, its at 25% after 6 uses so you can expect 16-24 before needing to replace bags. The bags don't seem to have any special features. So while this does intorduce a new consumeable you'll be purchasing, if you were already scooping into trash bags, there won't be much of a cost change especially since you can buy whatever bag you want. In all, I am pretty impressed with the design and well thought out functionality of the Whisper Litter Robot 3. The app and instructions are right on the money theme wise which is a nice touch.

Item came in nox damaged and Best buy did’nt replaced it too and they put that item out of stock and its not available in store. Bad customer service. its my mistake that I became total tech member

I can sum this review up in one very simple sentence. This thing is amazing! When you first look at the box you can easily become intimidated. Opening the box can be a chore, but this is a good thing. Everything is very well packed which means when you do get it home it should be okay. One thing I strongly recommend is to read all the instructions and then follow them. While an awesome automated cat liter box it is a rather complicated one. Getting all the parts assembled is a chore but one that's worth it. After assembled make sure to pick a place with easy access to an electrical outlet, obviously. Once in place make sure you download and install the app that runs it. Via the app connect it to your home network then load up a smaller amount of liter than you usually do. That's it. You're up and running. Once you cat uses the box the thing automatically cycles to dump the solids into an internal container and then puts the liter back in place. The app lets you know when it's time to dump the solids so it's literally set up and forget. The two cats in my home have taken to this without any issues. In fact the youngest one seems to like just sitting in there. Overall this. automated liter box is heaven sent!

I would have gladly given this product a 5 star if it hadn’t stopped working. When I got this litter robot and got it going I thought I had won the lottery, it worked for 2 weeks then stopped so I had to return it and have went back to the traditional scooping which is a dreaded job. With this robot it was amazing worked great at first and the 2 cats took to it before I even got it hooked up. I absolutely loved it. I got refunded today so I’m gonna try this again but this time I’m going with the litter robot 4 core. I’m just hoping I got a dud and this one will do the job for me. It’s a great product and worked great till it didn’t and I absolutely loved it. I would recommend this product because it’s amazing if it doesn’t stop working.
