We have 4 cats and had two Litter Robot 3's. One of them we inherited and was warned it didn't work great. Finally after 10 months it died so we got a Litter Robot 4 (The 4 is on the main floor, the 3 is in the basement). After having the 4 for about a month here are the main advantages over the 3: * Smaller footprint so it takes up less space * Significantly quieter than the 3 * Holds more so you are changing the bag less * In the app you get some more information versus the 3. Whether or not it's relevant will depend on the individual There are some minor disadvantages as well because of the redesign: * If you use the carbon filter, they're a unique shape so finding third party filters may be a little harder. On a side note the waste tray is smaller but you can still use a standard kitchen garbage bag * Because everything is smaller, some things are harder to get to (eg, we bought the backup battery direct from Whisker. Before the battery was easy to get to under the base, now you have to remove the globe, remove a panel, etc.) Overall we are happy with the Litter Robot 4 and if our other Litter Robot 3 goes I wouldn't hesitate getting the 4 to replace it but if you have a Litter Robot 3 that is working I wouldn't run out and replace it.

The best model yet of the LiterRobot! Super quiet, entry is larger which makes it easier to pour liter in, and it’s not as bulky as the other models. Also the liter bin holds a lot more!!!

I love this version! It's so much quieter than the LR-3. It weighs the cats while they're in the robot so you can tell which one is going and how frequently. This is vital information when one of your cats has previous history of bladder crystals. The drawer is easy to empty and there is no odor outside the box. I would recommend some sort of ramp or step if your cat is elderly.

Litter Robot 4 Success It's been 1 month now since I purchased the litter robot 4 for my 2.75-year-old cat who weighs 8.5lbs. Due to space constraints I had to change the location of her litter box, so naturally I was hesitant if it would work. Taking the suggested steps to acclimate her to the litter robot I placed her old litter box right next to the LR4, and at first she chose to use the LR4, but was very skittish of the clean cycle and actually swatting the litter robot while it was cycling. At this point I was a little bit more hesitant if she would calm down during the clean cycle but was willing to stick with it. I began sitting with her during the clean cycle and giving treats and talking in a calm manner to her while it would cycle. On the 3rd day she began to use both litter boxes, and I think she may have been confused as to which one to use. For the next 4 days I kept the old box near the LR4, and continued with treats, praise, and calm talking during the clean cycle. On day 7 I removed the old litter box and she uses the LR4 exclusively now with no issues. Now being 1.5 weeks in I think she actually looks forward to the clean cycle because it means treat time after its done. I'm glad this all worked out well and am confident the LR4 will be in use for years to come so I ordered the Hopper, and the gray litter mat to match her coat color. Thanks, whisker, for engineering a great product that may not work for every cat, but when it does it improves the lives, and health for both the cat parent, and the cat!!!

One of the best investment’s ever. Have done other automated litter boxes but all had problems either sifting or hard to clean trays. Whisker is amazing works very well and with conencted features you don’t worry about it use their bags or standard bags super easy empty. We are thinking about getting a second for another location in house. Would definitely recommend and buy again!

Great product that makes your life easy. Had to buy carpet tray because globe can act funny but have had issues in the first year but was still in warranty period but great company that replaces when ever it has issues. Great customer service

Love my litter robot, this is my second one I’ve bought. Although a little pricey they are worth every penny. No scooping, no smell you use way less litter. I love that this new model it lets me know how full it is. Cat owners will never regret purchasing one. Best litter I’ve found to use in the robot is arm and hammer slide.

No mess, no odor! My elderly cat was going so often, the litter turned to a greasy block in one corner of his box each day. Then he would step through it on his way out and track footprints down the hall. I will NEVER go back to an ordinary litter box again. The best money I’ve spent to a long time. Don’t hesitate. You won’t be sorry. PS He’s been using it for a month and no problems. Just read the directions.

This is my second litter robot and I love it. It is easy to manage, clean and empty. It is very quiet when it cycles that you forget that it is even there.

This is a significant upgrade from the Litter Robot 3. It is much quieter, smaller, and more appealing to the eyes. My last one last over 6 years before I upgraded to this one. It is definitely worth the price!

I still can't believe I bought one. Yes it is awesome. Yes my cats use it. No the room does not stink anymore. It solves so many problems that we cat owners put up with in the dirty kitty department. Honestly If I could yrain my cats to use the toliet I would have so this is the next best thing. Hate having to pay so much for a cat toliet but so far after months of use its still works like day one. Notifications are interesting also. Now I know more about my cats habits ect...

Overall, this machine is great and works perfectly. I generally have to take the bag out once per week with two cats. So far there have been zero issues, no bad smells and very easy to maintain. It is expensive but extremely well made, simple to set up - took less than 2 minutes to get up and running. Love the phone notifications everything it is cleaned. Highly recommend if you can afford it. Makes caring for 2 cats a lot easier!

I have been looking at a self cleaning litter box for a bit now since having a wrist injury has made scooping litter, already the worst part of owning a cat, an even more annoying chore. After 6 weeks I find it to be a great device I wish I would have gotten sooner. My older cat (currently 9 years old) never really liked covered litter boxes when I tried them before but keeping a standard litter box close by for 2 weeks made the transition easier. I very much appreciate that you can use a variety of litter because she’s very picky about the litter she will and won’t use so problem there. My 2 year old used to make a huge mess of tossing litter all over the place that this has taken care of as well. Safety is very good on this and will stop immediately if a cat is there which is fantastic as the younger cat is very curious every time it runs! Smell control is fantastic as well as no matter how often I cleaned the box before the Litter Robot 4 does a far better job hiding the smell with the filter.

This is our second Litter Robot. Our first one lasted about 5 years and did amazing. My husband at first absolutely refused to spend the amount of money on a litterbox, however when he finally agreed and realized how amazing it was he quickly agreed to a replacement. Our single Litter Robot accommodates 4 cats. We just have to change the bag more often. My only issue is that I cannot connect to my phone. After several attempts I gave up. Other than that I will never not have one in our home.

I love this thing! It’s easy to set up and easy to use. Took the cats a day to get used to it but after that no problem. Great for two cats. I love how it lets me know when the litter needs to be changed and when little needs to be added. Plus if there is a problem it walks you through how to fix it.

I bought this automatic litter box more that a year ago, and I couldn’t be happier. My cat uses it comfortably, which was a concern at first, but she adapted without any issues. For me, with very little time to spare, it has been the perfect solution. It’s super convenient and keeps the area clean effortlessly. Not only does it save time, but it also greatly reduces odors, which is a huge plus. I highly recommend it, especially for people with busy schedules or anyone looking for a practical and efficient way to care for their cats.

Its so quiet when you compare it to the litter robot 3. I live in a studio with a baby and no one can hear it when it spins. Amazingly quiet and keeps the house clean.
