The Wii U is extremely fun and has a bunch of unique features. I like the TV guide type function and the Internet browser is way better than the ps3/ps4 browser. A lot of games have the option to play without using the tv so it's even better if I feel like playing in the bedroom instead of living room or if something is on TV but I still want to play games. The library of Nintendo games is top notch. All their games are of ridiculously high quality, and the fact that they are currently not selling well, you can get new games on sale all the time. I've bought a bunch of games I would have never considered buying just becase they were on sale for $8-9, and I've received two or three games for free just because I bought a different game. The Mario game included with this console is fantastic. It's pretty, easy to control, challenging, and fun to play in a group. Nintendo Land is fun and has a bunch of mini games that make great use of the gamepad and wii remotes

I feel like the Wii U's life-span wasn't that long and the Switch came out to destroy it.

Wii U is the best next-gen gaming console out today. It has a ton of amazing games that are fun for everyone like, Mario Kart 8, Legend of Zelda, Sonic, Rayman, Lego Games, Call of Duty, Assassins Creed and Super Mario Bros. The included gamepad controller gives you a new way to explore and interact with your favorite game worlds. You can also play games on the gamepad without a TV. Wii U is great for multimedia like, Hulu and Netflix. It is fast, responsive, fun and overall, an enjoyable experience. It is also the most affordable new console today. Wii U also has more amazing new games coming like, Super Smash Bros., Star Fox, Mario Party, Bayonetta 2, and Watch Dogs. Wii U might just be the greatest console experience of all time.

Not worth it. Wii U game pad is useless and no option to turn it off. Pretty stupid.

I purchased the Wii U 32mb for my three children ages 7, 9, and 12. They love the game pad! When someone else wants to watch tv while the other wants to play the Wii U, they can by using the game pad. The Wii U offers so much more than the basic Wii player we have. I feel this was a great buy for the money.

system is not intuitive to operate and runs very slowly

Games are great. Graphics are great. But the killer feature is the ability to play using only the controller. No TV required! The controller is the TV. So my son can be playing his XBOX 360 while my daughter plays Captain Toad using the controller's display.

When the Wii U first came out, I really did not think I would end up buying one. However, the more titles that came out, the more intrigued I became. This console is great because you can use the gamepad to play games without using your TV. This works great for me when my wife wants to watch her shows. This is something I currently cannot do with my Xbox One or any other console I currently own. Yes, I have an Xbox One, which is a good console. It obviously produces better graphics than the Wii U, but in terms of innovation... I have to give the win to the Wii U and it's awesome gamepad. I love being able to play console quality games without using my TV. The gamepad can also be utilized in games without using it as your primary screen. Certain touchscreen functions will be enabled for different games. Nintendo releases quality games that are fun and are not so focused on online multiplayer. I get sick of all that. I am really glad I got this console to mix things up a bit. It kind of takes me back to what games used to be. I definitely recommend this console, even if you already have an Xbox One or PS4. Now is the time to get one of these. There are some great games that have come out recently, such as Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2 and Super Smash Bros. to name a few. There are plenty more great games on the horizon as well. You will not regret it!

We're old Atari/Nintendo/SNES/Game Cube folks. Even a WII. The WII U takes us to a wonderful place we've never been! Our grandchildren play EVERYTHING "Mario and Luigi" while my husband plays golf, my girls bowl, and I play Jeopardy. The game pad is awesome. My husband can watch television while I play Jeopardy on the game pad. I can't say enough good things about it. Ohhhh..... while watching an old movie and having a conflict about who the stars in the movie were, we just pulled out the game pad and googled the name of the movie. How convenient is that? Thoroughly enjoyable for the whole family. We haven't even explored all the capabilities yet!

My son is a video game enthusiast. When we bought this for him I was afraid that it would just be a newer version of the Wii. While it does play all the game discs made for the Wii, it has new features that make it unique. The game pad offers one player the ability to see the game without using the TV. This means my son can plan his games while the rest of the family watches a movie. It also allows for a new style of games like Mario Chase where the person using the game pad can see where everyone is but those using the TV can only see where their characters are. My daughter, who doesn't care for video games, even enjoyed that concept.

Had a Wii, loved it, but the Wii U has perfected this style of gaming. The Wii motion plus system is built in to the controllers for a better performing gaming experience. The graphics are much improved, but still are the classic Nintendo style. I didn't think I would like the handheld touchpad, but it has proved to be a great addition to the system. I can play games on the touchpad while the wife watches Netflix on the TV through the PS4. Both systems on and working keeps both of us happy. The games that have come out are great. Mario 3D Land, Super Smash Brothers, Donkey Kong, and Mario Kart are all great. Looking forward to more!

At first I was worried about the game pad, but honestly now we take turns using it because we like it so much. Great bundle, great system, we love the games!

We have the original Wii and the XBox 360 and were considering buying either the Wii U or the XBox One. My kids ultimately made the decision to get the Wii U based on 1) its backwards compatibility with Wii games, 2) Super Smash Bros U, and 3) Mario Kart 8. The kids and I are very happy with the Wii U (and now they rarely play the XBox). The game play on the Wii U is very fun... and not to challenging for us 'non-gaming' parents. I would certainly recommend buying this over the other two consoles... especially if you have an original Wii and are considering upgrading to a new console.

Definitely an all around good console, great for all ages and definitely something nice to have around with a group of friends or family.

I was previous a wii hater. I have a ps4, ps3, xbox 1 and xbox 360 and I thought that the wii u was for children. Then Mario maker came out and it changed the game. Not only can I design my childhood favorite game but I can also download a massive amount of super Nintendo and original Nintendo games for $5-$8 each. AMAZING! Bought the wii u immediately and absolutely love it. Went on a trip and plugged the base into the car outlet and played on the tablet the whole drive.

Family entertainment at high levels with this console. Best Buy price matched and had in stock. This new version of the Wii has many useful features that prior models were lacking. The control pad screen is quite useful and 5 year old grand daughter used this console from day one without much instruction as it performs intuitively. Recommended BUY for those looking for a console system that has more games for younger users than do the others.

I have been an Xbox player since the beginning. I was given a wii, when someone wasn't using it anymore. I thought it was pretty cool, but thought you still needed another console like the xbox to fully enjoy gaming. I purchased the Wii U for a Christmas present. It is a great console. I haven't been playing with my Xbox 360 since I got the Wii U. I love the implementation of the Game pad. It really helps the games. I had a lot of questions before I got the Wii U, so let me see if I can explain a few things... All the Wii games can be played on the Wii U, you will have to start the Wii U in the Wii mode. This can be done manually, or inserting a Wii game will do it for you. All the Wii Motion plus controllers will work on the Wii U. This is great since I already had a Wii with the controllers. The Wii U can connect to the internet via wifi connection, and it is easier than the Wii was to connect. The WIi U can use an hdmi cable to connect to an HD TV, and the graphics are great. The Game Pad can function as a touch screen, or used with motion like the Wii controllers. I know they have protective covers for the Game Pad, so I might have to pick one of those up. You can download apps like Netflix to the Wii U, where you can watch movies and TV shows on your TV, or even better, you can watch Netflix on the Game Pad, while the TV could be used for something else.

The ONLY thing that I have to say negative about the Wii U is that it doesn't play DVDs- other than that this thing is golden! I play the Wii U for the classic games- and updated versions of them (mario, donkey kong, etc). I can not comment on the newer stuff Nintendo produces, but I am very happy with the nostalgia factor.

The Wii U is the console to buy right now. The Wii U library is by far the best when compared to competitors at this point in time. The gamepad is intuitive and creates a unique gaming experience. This console also has great games that will bring both friends and family together for some great couch co-op!
