I was painting in the room and it immediately sensed the decrease in air quality. The unit is very well made and beautifully designed. We have had a model 5500 for two years and it has been very reliable. I expect the same from this 5300 as well.

I believe I have dust allergies and wanted to buy something to help make the air cleaner. The Winix 5300-2 does the job. Simple to set up, nice looking and quiet. I notice that the indicator sometimes changes from blue to amber and then red when I move it from room to room. Very efficient and I love the night mode where it runs lights out. I plan to buy another one later so I can have one at both ends of the house. Came with extra carbon filters. This unit does not include a remote but I don’t need it. Very lightweight and easily transportable.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.HUGE RED FLAG. this machine beeps an incredibly irritating sound when it turns on or off. there is no way to stop this. i’ve called them. the beeping when the machine goes off, if on a timer, will wake you up if you’re sleeping. why on earth anyone would design a machine to beep to SIX TIMES when it goes off? i cannot for the life of me understand. stay away from all winix products as they ALL do this and it cannot be fixed.

The purifier stopped working after 2 years (out of warranty). Do not recommend unless you enjoy throwing money away as we are also now left with unused filters. Suggest going with other brands. We purchased smaller units from a different brand and they worked better and hasn't given us any issues (knock on wood). Hope this helps.
